This is such a beautiful soundtrack. So beautiful I am using it in my wedding. It captures every emotion that I find hard to put into words. We are reneweing our vows for our ten year wedding anniversary, and I couldn't find more beautiful music than this that would add magic to the day.

This is just one of the most grandiose and unflinchingly romantic scores ever. It is most probably James Horner's best work, in that the film itself was the most appropriate opportunity for Horner to express the epic sweeping themes that he so easily pulls forth, in a very dramatic and scenic way. In the film, it's like the highlands of Scotland are drowning in the gushes of tragi-epic strings that Horner's score provides.

I would say that although the orchestrations and themes are perhaps not as humbly accurate as those in Rob Roy, the overwhelming nature of the meloncholy and drama of the score is just so perfect for this tragic hero's love story.

"For The Love Of A Princess" just steals my heart away.

A magnificent score. Although it's one of those things you can only listen to once in a while, I consider it an essential part of any record collection.

This soundtrack is a uilleann piper's dream. All the tracks are easy to listen to over and over again, but the ones with uillleann pipes are a pleasure to listen to even more.

A fantastic soundtrack - 18 brilliant tracks, with a masterly, very powerful main theme which is makes its impact in many of the cues. "Freedom/The Execution/Bannockburn" is my personal favourite, altough this track is just one of many very good ones. Mr. Horner has really got himself a masterpiece here, worth listening to over and over again.

This is the first soundtrack I ever bought. After seeing the film (one of my favourites), I absolutely and totally LOVED the score. I bought the CD on December 16, wrapped it up for Christmas day with unbearable anticipation. When I opened it on Christmas morning, I went straight back to bed and listened to the whole thing straight away.

"Freedom/The Execution/Bannockburn" is one of the best climactic pieces I have ever heard. All the themes come together, and after hearing them played monotonously in the score, hearing them in a finale was an emotional rollercoaster. I almost cried during part in the music where Wallace screams "FREEDOM." I can't explain the emotions I felt.

This is one of my favourite soundtracks. For James Horner, everything after this was just a rip-off of Braveheart (Horner being the BIGGEST self-plagiarising composer in the "free" world). Highly recommended to all.

This is one of the best movie soundtracks ever! I love each track, they are all so powerful. It should have won the Academy Award for best score back in 95. Beautifully done, by far Horner's best work yet!

Much of this movie's success can be credited to the score. Horner is my favorite movie composer, and this is his best stuff. This soundtrack is a must.

Like one of the other sountrack fans, I fell in love with movie music because of James Horner. He is the most amazing composer and this he proves once again with his fantastic, touching music for this amazing film.

I, too, am using this for my wedding. It is the most romantic soundtrack ever. Gary my partner asked me to marry him while watching the film and then took me to Wallace's monument. It was very interesting, and I can't think of better music to play than " For The Love Of A Princess." It's so lovely.

This soundtrack is so beautifully composed, it literally melted my heart. I found "For the Love of the Princess" the most beautiful of all the songs, other than the wedding music.

Interesting how one composer can be so varied. This has a totally different Scottish flavor his other scores don't have, and it works wonderfully.

"Braveheart" - such a wonderful word! And if the movie wasn't good enough, the soundtrack is incredible, too! This is the most wonderful soundtrack I believe I have ever heard! It says so much without ever uttering a word! It has so much emotion and passion in the 18 songs included. My favorite track is "Freedom/The Execution/Bannockburn." It almost makes me cry when I hear it! The passion! If you haven't heard it, I advise that you do!

This is an extraordinary achievement by my all-time favorite composer, James Horner. He has mixed the use of Irish Elbow bagpipes, violins, violas, cellos, drums, horns, and many, many other instruments to create the Scottish "feel" of the movie. I'd have to say this ties with Titanic as the absolute best James Horner soundtrack, and, unfortunately, one of the most copied. Both this and the Titanic scores are absolutely perfect for the movies they accompany! They make the movies a hundred times more beautiful than they originally were.

This is the ultimate soundtrack. Braveheart is my favorite movie, the soundtrack being one of the several reasons why. The beautiful celtic music is renowned in this magnificent film.

This is Horner's best work. It overshadows all his scores since then, even the excellent Titanic. The music here is exceptionally beautiful and I highly recommend it for any fans of movie music.

I just saw Bobby Jones Stroke of Genius and kept getting distracted by William and Murron's love theme sweeping through the picture! I could hardly wait to get back and listen to the original Braveheart soundtrack in total. This music is truly beautiful, no matter how many times it's heard!

The Braveheart soundtrack is one the most moving soundtracks I have ever heard in a move. It captures feelings that every man, woman, and child have felt in their life. A person would be a fool not to love this music.

I have watched the movie (one of my absolute favorites) so many times and every time it makes me sob. The music adds so much to every scene. The emotion it bestows upon the movie is heart-rending. I love it.

The film is great, the music is great and Wallace was great. So many beautiful music scenes in one movie. People should give more respect to old traditions. They are here because of him.

This soundtrack is so beautiful. It touches my soul with the beautiful bars of bag pipe. Being Scottish, the music stirs within me such emotion that sometimes I get a little weepy. I would recommend this soundtrack to anyone on the face of the planet and hope that my recommendation goes noticed.

I don't have the soundtrack yet; I'm basing my review on what I heard in the movie. My favorite piece has to be "A Gift of a Thistle." Every time I hear that track I choke up and find myself weeping. It's a tear-jerker for me; I can't help it. In my viewpoint, the music seems to express Wallace's emotions: Grief over losing his family and Murron, his love for Murron... The composer did a wonderful job on the piece.

This is a brilliant soundtrack for a brilliant film. From the first time I saw the movie, I couldn't help but notice how touching and beautiful the music was. I think that a big part of this film's greatness was in its music. I would highly recommend this soundtrack not just to fans of Horner and film scores, but to everyone. This one's a true gem.

This is my second favorite James Horner score, the first being Jumanji. This music captures all the drama of the film about William Wallace and his exploits, as well as being a separate work and musical triumph in its own right. This score functions well all by itself. My favorite track is cue 2 with its sandwiched beginning and end woodwind motif. In the middle dance strings and this score's star: the bagpipe. The bagpipe pops up throughout the work in tracks such as 1, 2, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, and 18. The flute woodwind melody, my personal favorite, plays out in tracks like 2, 3, 4, 11, 16, and onward. I cannot comment this piece of work highly enough. If I could give it ten stars, I would. Perfect for a Christmas or birthday present or for any other occasion. Braveheart takes the trophy as one of Horner's most celebrated and memorable scores. Perhaps even his best. Highly recommended.
