    Hi Guys,
I'm so chuffed as I've just had a CD of my music published and its online. Its a selection of 43 of my themes/instrumental pieces in a film/classical style.....about 78 mins in all. They're all recorded through my computer/keyboard setup and although not a live orchestra the sound is quite authentic. Anyway, if any of you guys are interested you can listen to a few samples ( and purchase a CD if desired...please do!!) at the following URL http://www.rivierapublishing.co.uk/tvfilm/tvfilm.html
Here is a listing of all the tracks.....most of them are short film themes but there's also a few piano solo and classical pieces. If you do decide to buy a copy feel free to E-Mail me with any comments or feedback. Sorry for this blatant advertising PeterK, but after all, it is film-music related, so why not?

    Gae,

Hey man, I am proud of you! You mentioned this a while back and I was stoked then, and I am still stoked!

I will definitely buy this cd!

I noticed the first fanfare is from our pre-Moviemusic Overture! It still sounds great!

I will talk to you later bud!

    Aaron

Thanks Guys, I'm just really pleased that I've finally got some of my music with a publisher. I dont know how much they are charging for a CD as thats up to the publishers..but I do know that I get 60% royalties on any sold. I'm actually gonna get a friend to buy a CD anonomously ( I pay for it)...just to check that I get the royalties sent. All I know is that its a great feeling to get your music out into the " public domain". Aaron, yes, I did use "our" fanfare as I just thought it would make a good intro, and as it was "redundant", I thought why not? By the way, how are you getting on?....having seen you on IM for a while!! Audacity and Dan...thanks for your support also. You guys have been really supportive over the past year. Cheers Gae
P.S. If you do buy one of the CD's the final track "Action" is missing a couple of mins at the end. If you want I can send you the complete MP3 of it and also a couple of other tracks didn't transfer 100% with a couple of instruments "dropping out"( you probably wouldn't notice it but I do as I composed the pieces). These can also be sent in MP3.

Very good, Gae! I'm listening to THE DESERT JOURNEY right now.

Loved the FANFARE. Which I could do that on my keyboard. What did you perform these on?

    Chase&August,
thanks a lot!! I use the music programme "Cakewalk" and its connected to a Technics KN2000 keyboard which is what you can hear playing. Thats about it really.
    Once again, thanks. Gae

    A Technics KN2000.

How much would one of those set me back? I've got a Yamaha PSR-270, but that might as well be a toddler piano compared to this Technics one.

Well the KN2000 keyboard is about 5 years old now....apparently Technics are up to a KN6000 now....but I'm happy with mine at the mo. I reckon you could pick one up second-hand for about £1000.....$1800???? but thats just a rough guess. Its a great keyboard though...I recommend it. Gae

    Gae,

Hey, I am glad you are doing great! I have been extremely busy with many composing gigs.

-I have a concert that I will be conducting. It is a Gala Concert sponsored by Florida and Coke believe it or not. The orchestra(all professional) will be premiering 6 new pieces.

-Plus I finished composing incidental music for a musical. Jeron and Cole got to listen to it and they seemed to like it. It is very fun with a child's chorus.

-Also, Joe's film is coming up and I am mentally preparing for that!

-I am composing a piece for the University of Florida Winde Ensemble for their next term concert.

-I am still working on a horn concerto for Dr. Paul Basler.

-Finally, I am scoring a NASA film for the Library of Congress!

That sums up of what I am doing lately!

GREAT MUSIC MAN, AND I AM DEFINITELY GONNA ORDER IT!

    Congratulations Gae for the release.
I didn't listened to the cues yet but I will.
Perhaps we could exchange scores of our
    compositions some day.

    Cheers!!!

Thanks Marcelo....there are only 4 samples on the site but have a listen if you get a chance. Any chance of hearing some of your music? I've been on your homepage but didn't see any samples. Also, how do you compose?....pen & paper?...computer midi?...I'd be interested to find out. Cheers. Gae

    Hi Gae.
Sorry it taked too long to reply.
About composing,I have time I prefer paper.
Sometimes I do a midi sequence of some Ideas,I print it the Raws and that's the start.
Finally I edit the score with the Encore program.
But for works with "Big Deadline" I do midi all the way.
But the result is not so polished.
If You like, I could send You the promo of my
    last (and first) movie.
    Let me know!

    Best
    M.F.

    Marcelo,

Hey... I would be interested in recieving your score you did for that movie.

I am in the process of scoring several films, and would love to trade!

Also, that is an interesting question on how we all compose. We all do it differently and that would make an interesting topic!

    Later,
    Aaron

I've just been in the music samples
    page of Gae.
Hey guys, You've got to check it.
There are keyboard scores but writtened
    as if was an orchestra.
It is not hard to imagine how it would be
    with a real orchestra.

    The Fanfare is very Rozsquenesque
From the new movie "Gaen Hur"

The desert journey reminds me a bit Maya
    the great Salter TV series

In Private Eye only Boogie or
    Robert Mitchum is needed

And Haunted House is really the
    Boris Karloff House.

    Have a drink!

Thanks for the comments Marcelo. I'm looking forward to hearing your promo....I'll let you know what I think! There seems to be quite a few composers on this web-site (some professional like yourself and amateur like me). Its a great board for composers as well as fans to share ideas and thoughts!! Cheers Gae
