Amazon.com wrote:Customers who bought titles by John Williams also bought titles by these artists:

Bernard Herrmann
Hans Zimmer
______It's not that Star Trek isn't an artist, is it?

It just sounds like some of them didn't differentiate between the rerecording and the film recording.

On Amazon, you can review the reviews by voting on the review being helpful or not.If you think it is wrong, vote it down.

ShaunWell... some of them seem inanely ignorent. Of course, when anyone and all their friends can write reviews, and have them approved by people who mostly look for swearing and grammar as oppose to accuracy, you'll have stuff like that.
You must have a low tolorence for stupidity. Don't let them get to you.

Thanks John,
I'm glad you understand somewhat. It must be working at a record store, I have to hear inane and completely misinformed comments like the reviews of the Jaws album. I must have a low tolerance. Anyway....XYZ. Back to our regularly scheduled Horner/Zimmer bashing......Shaun

What I see is 14 reviews which stay on topic, posting honest opinions which refrain from bashing each other, unrelated composers, etc. Basically an orderly, well mannered discourse.
My, what a concept!
NP: Shogun Mayeda (Scott), also giving this one 5 *'s!

Several focus more on the fact that this music is different from the first release of JAWS and go so far as to claim it is another recording done precisely for the new album. In making statements like that, they can only serve to mislead other equally uniformed consumers, and spread misinformation.
NP: Mask of Zorro, by Jerry Goldsmith, recorded expressly for this soundtrack release, featuring music not from the film!
PS. The above is intended as a saracsm. "Zorro" is actually by James Horner, although the music on the soundtrack does differ from what was in the film. I believe Horner may have had it re-proformed for the release, or perhaps he just edited the tracks into suites like Mr. Williams.

There are 14 reviews to choose from. Anyone who cares to read them all and average them with the proper size grain of salt can make up their own mind based on these reviews and whatever other info they care to seek out. It's understood beforehand that reviews are imperfect, despite their source.
Being bothered? I don't think so. I'm just applauding the civility of the place, that's all.Recommendation: Post a review over there that helps to clear up any mistakes made by the misinformed. That's a positive approach. This will protect any other misinformed individuals from the alleged misinformation at hand. I would do it myself, but Jaws is not at the top of my list of priorites.

Seems fine to me, as long as the perspective buyer doesn't base their opinion on just ONE of the reviews, the misinformation should not be too hindering. Writing a review correcting it would be good.Anyway, it's NOTHING compared to the reviews of George Fenton's Ever After, which had loads of people screaming "False advertising!" because they bought the CD based on the music in the trailers, and were (duh!) disappointed (though now, lots more score fans chimed in to bring the rating up).

Just be patient with people Shaun. I feel the same way as you do from time to time. Without trying to offend anyone there are people out there who claim to be experts and have no idea what they are talking about half of the time. Present company excluded.
