Gracious Mark Hatfield called from the barbecue and said to let all of you
know that the concerts were superb and the comradeship of all the guys
(and Lovely Laura) was most excellent. Mark said that it is a real
treat to bond with Brad, Joe, PeterK, Jeron, Scott, JJH, Aaron and
ah, I’ve probably forgotten someone’s name. My fault. To find others
who share the same love for movie music is truly a banquet or feast
that few of us ever realize. Also got to jabber with Brad, who is
rich with intelligence, kindness, and laughter. I’m happy for all of
them and hope they post OODLES of details about this event.

Just imagine if ALL of us could meet up?!

I have ALMOST cleared it with Danny Elfman, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner for a one-of-a-kind evening in Oslo. First, we (i.e. the messageboarders, the composers and anyone invited) will gather at the Radisson SAS hotel, and be treated with a luxurious 5-dish meal. Then we will all procede to the Spectrum (Oslo's largest ice hockey hall and concert hall), where Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra under the guest baton of Claudio Abbado will perform selections of the aforementioned film composers based on the audience's wishes. It's a 3 and a half hour concert, complete with a massive lightshow in the vein of Jean Michel Jarre.

After the concert, we will all gather at the Radisson SAS again, for a nachspiel that takes us into the night and morning, complete with CD-signing and general hanging out with the composers in question. There will be free drinks of all kinds and a 10 metre table of all the snacks and goodies you can imagine. The following day will include a tour of Oslo and - for those who wish - a tour of Norway with Williams' personal jet.

This entire spectacle is free of charge, of course.

THEN we will see who is envious!!! MUUUUAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA.

Marian and Tim: BRING ON THE 6023 EXTRA EUROPEANS! This is a gathering first and foremost geared at the film music concert-neglected European citizens (although all are welcome, of course) - and there will be a special surprise for the European audience at the SAS Radisson nachspiel!

I sure do love to cook, and I especially love party-style goodies...but I've never prepared enough to feed an ARMY of people!
