It helps to have a email address listed so they could perhaps CONTACT YOU!!!!Did you ever consider instead of posting here, just going to their webstie and looking it up?
it's filmscoremonthly.com
It took me 30 seconds to find the information your looking for.
Try looking under CONTACT INFORMATION on their site!
You could also just look inside a issue of the magazine,it's right there as well.
And none of this takes a great deal of effort either.

Euh, yes
Ford.... I did look at their website, how in the freakin' ****** was I able to order their CD's in the first place?
Like duh, I did have an E-mail address listed (entered upon ordering the merchandise)
and like duh, did they contact me, telling me they were partially shipping my order and stating the reason for that?
Djeez man, lighten up. And yes found that too.... tried the number, no response. Or worst case, "peeeeeeep" "teeeee" "daaaaaa"
(sound of Fax)Yes, Foobs has now witnessed at first hand the wrath of Ford A. Thaxton. And it is true what they say!
Did it ever occur to you Ford that instead of just posting some messages here you might be a little more humble?
Did it ever occur to you to test the validity of the information you give before you reply? And I don't have an issue here with me. Never have and probably never will.
Man o man....
And thank you Mark, you have been the best help ;-)

Folks,If the original poster had taken a moment of his time, he would have found the answer to his question without having posted here.
As a matter of fact he FOUND the phone number by his own admission before posting.
He just didn't get a answer when he called (FSM perhaps might wish to check their voice mail and see if it's working correctly).
He also could have emailed them (the information is clearly listed on their site as well).
The bottomline is with as much effort as it took to post here, this person (who doesn't even list his email address so you can send him the answer) could have taken care of the matter all by himself without posting.
that's my point.
As for being helpful, I directed him to at least TWO sources that contained the information he sought.
It's like that old saying "Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Like duh Ford.
Don't be smart!Yes I did find the telephone number before I posted. Yes I did try it out. I was hoping that my fellow boardmembers had additional/other phone numbers to supplement the two numbers I now have.
I don't live in the US so I do not have access to the resources at hand. And I am calling internationally. And yes once I responded to lukas kendall's E-mail and he never replied! That's why I want to speak with someone in person!
Your information is not valid. The number is not correct. If you have the ability to talk directly to a fax-machine, be my guest! By all means.
No need to "apologize" for your help and refer this thread back to me.
"Folks"....... (*boring!*)As stupid as it may seem: the FSM site is very outdated. My first impression.
I am an IT-specialist and know these things. Often one will update his website bit by bit.... Information contained on that site would sometimes be incorrect because of let's say recent structural changes through the company.I did take the time and mind you phone contacts/conversations are more effective than E-mail, Fax or any other means of (electronic) communication. Any well educated buff should know this.
Yes I did send an E-mail.... like DUH....
But if nobody is there to answer the ***** phone, do you expect that there is someone there to check the mail? And why should I post my E-mail address here, when anyone who can respond can simply add a new thread to the message?
I value my privacy, respect that! (is that too much to ask?)So Ford, if you can't be of any(more) help.... refrain from doing so. This was supposed to be a simple thread. You have poisoned it!
It really is true......... sad ;-(

Yes, Daniel J, the quote IS from QUICK CHANGE! Thanks for helping me out....while I could "see" Bill Murray delivering the line in my mind's eye, I couldn't get the exact movie - till now."I'm a Crying-on-the-Inside kind of clown, I guess."

Foobs: sorry if the number I gave you was of no value. I have had similar problems with FSM in the past, and I just didn't think you should have to live with a snarky posting that offered no real help. Good Luck!

Thanks Mark,Well good to see that I am not the only one having problems with FSM. While I do value their work in the bussiness they should pay more attention to CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
Just a question:
You too have once received a partial shipment or gotten zero results in trying to contact them? And FSM failed to notify you of shipment, partial and/or complete otherwise?Last but not least,
I am not going to bother with the snappish not-very-well-thought-through remarks of Ford A. Thaxton.
All I know now is that the things people say about him are true. I have now been given the opportunity to experience that first hand. I always reserve my own judgement. This is the way one should respond to a message ;-)
The reason why I need quick action is because I live in The Netherlands. My mother is visiting family in New York and I had the discs sent to my family. But she called me about 13 hours ago and said that 4 discs were not in the package. I am going to call her within the hour (6 hours difference The Netherlands-United States/East).
What else can I do..... I'll keep on trying that number. Sometimes I get a "teeeee" "daaaaa" "deeeeeeee" (fax) sometimes I get a voice mailbox...... and sometimes zero, nada, nothing.....NP: CHAIN REACTION - Jerry Goldsmith ***/****

Two important points.Providing a email so folks can answer you directly is a good idea, try it.
And I don't pull my punches in expressing my opinions.
it's time now to focus on some issues that have come up that perhaps one of you bright young folks might wish to pass onto the publisher of FSM, his email for those who can't be troubled to look it is lukas@filmscoremonthly.com
1.) If his contact information on his website is out of date, has anyone informed him of this? I suspect he'll update it if he's made aware of the problem,it's in his best interests.I'm fairly certain that it's updated to in the print magazine itself.
2.) If you are having problems with CUSTOMER SERVICE Dept, tell him directly and ask for him to address it..
Once again it's in his best interests.
3.) Some brave soul might wish to email him the URL for this thrend and suggest he read it.
It might make an impression on him.
Just some suggestions to that might correct the problem.

It is. But rule number one in avoiding spamming is .........? (OBVIOUS, DUH!)
And why should I provide my E-mail address when I have the notify-by-Email-when-someone-responds-to-your-message on?You never voiced your opinion. You just ranted! and added more credibility to your character as people have described you on the internet.
Aaah.... we are bright young folks now ;-)
and not to mention brave souls.Like duh, have you been reading all of this. Do you understand what is said in this thread? I tried contacting Lukas Kendall himself a while back. NEVER GOT A REPLY BACK! Adds credibility to your two points, doesn't it?
READ: I do not have an in print magazine at hand. Never have and never will!
Alright, it is in his best interest? Why don't they answer the phone? (213-937-9890)

Foobsie,Not to throw gasoline on a flame but...
Where did you get this number: (213-937-9890)
??If memory serves, that number is WAY out of date - it's from their old address, before the 323 area code took effect. But it's moot, since they have long since moved.
I just talked to Lukas Kendall. I dialed 310-253-9595, the number found on their website.
I'm pointing him towards this thread.

dgoldwas, it could be anything - you shouldn't be surprised! Heck, I have Intrada CDs with old internet addresses on them. Same with Varese. Saticoy Road in Van Nuys? I am sure the contact info on 50% of all my albums, LPs included (Washington DC with a zip code of 25?), are way out dated.

Dan,That is one of the two voice telephone numbers I extracted from their website.
(310) 253-9595.
213-937-9890ALSO plain proof that the filmscoremonthly website has incorrect information/data as I stated in one of my previous replies.
And no.... you are not throwing gasoline on a flame..... In fact where is the flame? And man.... do you know how expensive gasoline is these days?
The number was retrieved from "HANDBOOK" "Writer's Guidelines" and the following text:
Due to the current volume of articles on hand, please do not send unsolicited material. Instead, write me (Lukas) at the address above, or E-mail lukas@filmscoremonthly.com; or phone (213-937-9890) or fax (213-937-9277). Pitch some ideas of what you might be interested in doing, and I'll give the go ahead or help you come up with something else.So notice the effort I have put in trying to sniff out a telephone number that actually works!
Ow BTW:

Whew. What an afternoon. This was a big one! 20+ posts, Ford Thaxton, dgoldwas, Lukas Kendall by way of dgoldwas! Kids were scrambling, a group formed out on the outskirts of the playground, kids were yellin' "Fight! Fight! Fight!" and where were the teachers? Thank goodness we all have "folks" (boring, I know) in high places to get needed answers to our basic questions.

http://www.soundtrack.net/soundtracks/database/?id=2606Nowhere do I say that it's a promotional item. I just say that it was released by the game company, and might be hard to come by (there are many people who look for CDs in stores, ya know....).
Now maybe it's just me, but I couldn't find the soundtrack ANYWHERE for sale on their site (granted I only looked in the USA section), so until I see otherwise, I'm keeping it at that price.

Dan, while you're here, will you PLEASE do me a favor? It's just been bothering me since I read the page "The Best Of 1999".
Top Gun
Let's face it. Top Gun was a really fun movie, and had a killer soundtrack. Finally they put out an expanded soundtrack to this film, with more songs (can you believe that "Danger Zone" was never on the original album?) and one more score cue. While it would have been nice to have more of Harold Faltermeyer's score, the extra songs and cue make this album a notable re-issue.
"Danger Zone" WAS on the original album. Perhaps you meant "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling"?
