Joel McNeely's score for the pilot episode of James Cameron's DARK ANGEL is available (at least in part) at the following website:
http://www.darkangeltheseries.com/Once you've opened the menu, go to the last option ("The Myth"). You'll be taken to Logan Cale's desktop. Click on RadiotecH Music Player and voila! Those folks were nice enough to offer ten tracks composed by McNeely for the pilot, in crystal clarity. And these ain't no excerpts: complete tracks only. And they are:
1. Opening Escape
2. Bicycle Ride
3. Nine
4. Break In
5. The Mirror
6. Lauren
7. You're the Whack
8. Warehouse
9. Rescue
10. ThemeThere's about 30 minutes of music there. I think that's incredibly cool of them to put it there. Moreover, I think the score from the pilot is even better than what we hear on a weekly basis in the rest of the episodes. "Opening Escape", "Rescue", and "Theme" are my three favorite tracks and they all, what a coincidence, contain those wonderful vocals. "Theme" is actually the music from the final scene of the pilot. "Bicycle Ride" contains music that was later used in the End Credits of the series.
Varese Sarabande... please, hear our plea and release this music :) I just love it.

Very cool... I'll be putting THESE on a CD for sure. (that is, until Varese or some other record company releases an album!)

thanx Kosh, although we don't have that serie here in Holland
the score is absolutely wonderful.
I'm just wondering how to download these songs to my desktop
so I can put them on a cd for the time being, as I'm only able to
listen to them via the player from the darkangel website and
can't save them.---Danté

Did you notice that, although they sound great, they are in mono? But, better something than nothing.

I don't know exactly how you turn an SFW track (the format available on the website) into a WAVE to burn on a CD, but I can tell you that, if you go in your "Temporary Internet Files" folder, and copy the 10 files (if they have been previously downloaded from the RadiotecH player), you can listen to them on WinAmp. Hence, no need to listen to the music live all the time; once you've done it, you copy the files to another folder and can listen to them via WinAmp.Now, from that to a burnt CD...? Jeron? You out there, man? :)

If WinAmp can play the files, it should be no problem: WinAmp comes with a DiskWriter plugin. Just go to the options, and select the plugin from the output plugin category. When playing the file, WinAmp should then ask you for a filename and write the music to that file in WAV format instead of playing it via the speakers.NP: Krull (James Horner)

Kosh, when I attempt to play the SWF files on WinAmp, I get a very distorted, choppy playback of the music. If you aren't having problems, follow Marian's instructions. That's what I originally intended to do.Because of the problem I was having, I recorded the streaming source directly - using a wav recorder and changing my recording settings to "wav" rather than "cd audio" or whatever you might have it set at.
I then took them and played with them in Sound Forge... turned out nicely, albeit it is in mono (as Majesty pointed out).

Anyone know why they posted these? Are they promoting a CD release?

I believe they are...advertising for the coming of one! If they're trying to make us hype...it's working!
