So, what is YOUR ultimate film dream?? My ultimate film dream would be to meet the man behind the scores for Hollow Man, Congo, Small Soldiers, etc., Jerry Goldsmith! As you all know, Jerry is THE KING of film scores! So come on, contribute! What is YOUR ultimate film dream?Master Conjurer

My film dream, which I plan on actually DOING someday in the future is to write/direct/score/produce/edit basically do anything at all I can on my own film and have it be a huge success. It will not be the normal hollywood big $$ junk, it is smart, thought provoking and deep. WIll it ever be made? I would hope so since it will be my film!

I would like to meet Bill Conti. Then maybe I could persuade him and whoever else to make a score to The Scout. Maybe I can save him from a car wreck or something, and he will say "Thanks for saving my life, I will give you any one thing you want." Then I wuld say "I want a complete score (or at least the last track) of The Scout"

A few of the people who contribute on this board have met Goldsmith. Lou G. met him up north at one concert and I met him in Springfield, Missouri in 1989 and got to chat a while. What a privilege it was. There are some others on the board here too that have also met him. Best, JW.

Actually, there are people I would rather meet than Goldsmith. Basil Poledouris, for example, or JNH. John Williams would be interesting to chat with, but he's fairly obvious. I'd also like to meet Danny Elfman, to see if he's weird or really just a boring guy with a goatee

Mine would be to have Dreamworks come to me and ask me to write and direct a animated sci-fi movie based on my comic characters. I think Zimmer would score it.Dave

Mine would be the offer to direct a big Hollywood thriller scripted by myself and Andrew Kevin Walker and starring Ed Norton, Famke Janssen and Sam Neill. Michael Kamen would score. Wow, I'm getting excited just thinking about it.

Yes, it's true. I met Jerry in Toledo, Ohio of all places. A number of people on the board met him in Detroit (which was just around the block from me but which I didn't attend). So, MC, it has been done. Of course, saying hi and getting an autograph is not the same thing as sitting down to dinner with the man, but hey.....My ultimate dream has nothing to do with film, but my ultimate film dream is to stop watching movies (they are a waste of time and essentially for weak people who prefer fantasy to reality); to destroy all existing film materials: stills, props, scripts, scores, prints, negatives, studios, production equipment (film is a doomed attempt at immortality favored by people who are afraid to die, the destruction of cinema will remind all that everything is impermanent) ; and then use the ashes of cinema as confetti to herald in the new fascist state.....

Lance--I figure that the Horner followers will follow anyone so why not ME. ME! ME!! Of course, they'll be the first to go when I come to power. Can't have that riff-raff around: "We'll line 'em up against the wall and Pop Goes the Weasel."[Message edited by Lou Goldberg on 03-27-2001]
