    Jonathan,

I'm all for supporting Peter and his store. I consider Peter a good friend. BUT, I made this post simply because the primary complaint I hear about the ST:TMP CE disc is that it is overpriced. Moviemusic.com's $23+S&H is a perfect example. I paid full price for this disc, only because I'm a Goldsmith freak and would have paid even more if it'd been priced as such. But honestly, I believe this is a score that belongs in every film music enthusiast's collection. No collection is complete without it. If forwarding folks to a site that offers it for $17.99 increases "Goldsmith-ST:TMP-awareness," then by god, I'm going to forward them. I'm a Goldsmith evangelist - so sue me...

Last week I found a great place in my country (Chile) with good scores that aren't in regular CD stores (that's all Varese catalogue, for example). In this place I bought the Collector's Edition for $9.000 (+-U$15).

    A must have.

I hear ya, Jeron. I was just "being an ass." I agree with everything you've said.

I paid full price for this disc, too, and when it got to my house (I did not order it via this site ) it was almost totally trashed. The jewel case is a total loss, the outside slipcase is crap, but the discs and liner notes survived. I put the score disc and the liner notes in a new jewel case, while the extremely lame second disc sits in the remains of the original jewel case.

Whoever thought up that second disc needs to get their head examined.

Well indeed after the magnificent 1st disk, we end up with, well to all intents and purposes a coffee holder. (and that's being nice)

Played once and instantly forgotten, bit like Morricones's Rampage actually.

Sony obviously tailored the expanded version for the benefit of the musically-indifferent STAR TREK fans. Which explains why Nichelle Nichols's voice got preference over the Smoke Break cue. It's a profound insult to music fans.
