Does anyone know of some good sites on which to find good, clear CD cover art? For instance, I'm looking to download some Barry and Doyle CD covers, but most of the sites have either very tiny pictures or no pictures at all. Any ideas guys? Thanks!

Wow, that first site you listed certainly has the mother lode of CD covers, many rare ones, which is superb! However, when I go to the Movie Boulevard site, they do have a great listing of scores for sale and all, but I can't seem to find where I could view and download the cover art. Am I missing something? Thanks again, OHMSS!

The below is what I was thinking of, for checking out new art.
    http://www.movieboulevard.co.uk/soundtrackframes.htm

Of course, I haven't tried this yet, but it was at least a place to see new art!

    Best,
    Sean

PS....do you miss MST3K as much as I do?
    Push the button Frank!lol

I will certainly check out that part of the MB site.
And oh, how I miss MST3K, especially Dr. F and Frank - their product exchanges were the best! Pearl was good, but not always sharp enough.
Did you happen to buy Mike Nelson's book, Movie MegaCheese? It's an absolute laugh riot, with his reviews of current films, but in a style that would completely work on MST. Check it out, if you can.
I am also hoping that one day Comedy Central lets go of the rights to all the early episodes amd allow someone to air them - ah, that woudl be bliss!
Do you have many of them recorded?

No, I didn't know about that book! I'll check into it this weekend, it sounds great

What did you think of the theatrical movie they did? I loved it,but it's too bad it was so short. I REALLY miss the days of Joel, but grew accustomed to Mike Nelson, although his first few were pretty bad.

I would kill for someone to re-air those episodes! I was taping them for awhile, but only have a few now....incl. my all time favorite MASTER NINJA!!!! Either that, or they could put some more on DVD, that would be nice also

Do you know of any other titles that are coming soon on DVD? It's so cool that they put the film and the MST'd version on there!

    Best,
    Sean

Darn, I missed MASTER NINJA, sounds like a winner! I liked all the GAMERA films they did, plus SPACE MUTINY and the HERCULES films, too.
Yes, it took a little while for Mike, but I grew to really like his style of commentary and writing. It is interesting how they are including both the original and MST version of the films on DVD, although I would rather there be just two MST episodes per DVD.
Their big movie was great, saw it in the theaters with friends and we roared at the MANOS in-joke! I still get a kick out of that one, but they less time than even in their TV episodes.
Have you bought all the ones available on video? There are still some I am missing. Any other fav's?

Oh man! I forgot about MANOS!!! That is probably my second fave, but NO ONE will sit through it all the way with me!

Master Ninja w/Lee Van Cleef, the awful Timothy Van Patten, and Demi Moore in the first episode,er uh part of the movie, is so incredibly funny. And there was a biker movie....Wild Rebels! Alien From LA, classic one....umm....A Sandy Frank Planet of the Apes rip off, what was that called? All of the Gamera movies are classic. Attack of the Giant Leeches...I'm going to check at home tonight which ones I have, since it's been a long time. Catalina Caper, another awesome one!

Your right about them nixing the film, and adding another MST'd film on the DVD...hadn't thought about that!lol

This is a total trip down memory lane!
    "Manos" the "Hands" of Fate!

Well, I'm in Chicago, if that makes a difference, but trading tapes is an excellent idea!
I will look through my collection as well and make up a list of what I've got. Hopefully, we'll each have a few the other doesn't have! I no longer get the Sci-Fi Channel, which is a bummer, because I can't even see those reruns anymore! Most of mine were taped from the CC Channel.
I can email you the list of what I have and then you can reply? Or maybe I'll just post it on this thread...

    Sounds good to me!

You can post it here, or email me, whichever is more convienient. I check this board every damned five seconds anyway(when I'm bored at work of course!).

Ill send a list of what titles I have tomorrow, and I only asked where you lived, since now I know I won't have to send tapes overseas or something!lol

I don't even know if they do reruns anymore, on any channel! At least that's what I thought. I taped mine from the Sci Fi Channel, over what seems like yearssssss ago

Some of them didn't come out very well(low sound quality for some reason) so I'll have to see which ones those are.

have you rented any certain ones, like Cave Dwellers,Eeeagh,Mitchell? I haven't gotten around to it yet myself.

Actually, I have rented Mitchell, The Brain The Wouldn't Die, and The Gunslinger; all of those that seem available in every freakin' video store I've been to! I don't understand why further volumes are not avl. to rent.
You know, several of my taped episodes also have low volume quality and in addition I noticed on my purchased copy of Sidehackers (cool title!) that I really had to crank up the volume to hear it well. Maybe it's these old movies that have the bad sound.
I think I'll both post my list here and email it to you. I'll check my collection when I get home this evening. Have you seen their websites? There is one in particular rhat has the best sound clips from the episodes, truly funny stuff. Of course, I cannot recall the site name to save my life right now...

Yeah I don't know why the volume is low on some of mine...it really screwed up my prized ALIEN FROM LA! With the super hot Kathy "Dull Surprise" Ireland! Huzzah!

Okay, I'm back and I've got those MST3K titles listed from my collection! I thought I had more, but I was mistaken. Here they are:

    THE BEGINNING OF THE END
    THE CRAWLING HAND
    WILD WOLRD OF BAT WOMAN
    THE ATOMIC BRAIN
    RED ZONE CUBA
    I ACCUSE MY PARENTS
    THE GUNSLINGER
    MONSTER A GO-GO
    THE MAGIC SWORD
    POD PEOPLE
    HERCULES
    ZOMBIE NIGHTMARE (not complete)
    THE PROJECTED MAN
    PUMA MAN (another fav!)
    SIDEHACKERS
    THE CRAWLING TERROR

So there we have it! Oh, and also the MST movie, which I'm sure all fans have. I also have the last 1/2 of a GAMERA film and the first 1/2 of BEING FROM ANOTHER PLANET - these were taped while on vacation in Florida years ago and I had just discovered the Comedy Central channel in the place we were staying!
So let me know when you get a chance what all you have as well, I'm quite curious! I'll also send this note to your email address.

    Later,
    Brian

    Tom Servo made the show!

MST3K is one of my all-time favorite shows also. Some of my favorite parts of the show were the shorts that they would have before the movies. You know like the one on refrigerated trucking and the one about little Jimmy not having good hygiene, those were absolutely great.

Ok here is a question for you two since you seem to be true fans of the show. What episode was it when Crow and Servo were making fun of I think it was Ingmar Bergman. Where Tom was counting the planks on the dock and Crow was counting the spaces in between the planks. That has to be my favorite moment of the entire series but I can't for the life of me remember what episode it was.

    Welcome to the party Audacity!

I'm not familiar with the episode you talked about, maybe Tv's Frank can help here?

Tom Servo was great, Pearl...eh,so-so, but for me Crow was the man. His sharp wit is unparalled!

Do you remember the short "Mr B. Natural" with an androgynous man/woman who snuck into little Jimmy's bedroom to play clarinet duets in the wee hours of the night? If so, huzzah! If not, I'm just gibbering away aren't I? lol

NP:King Solomon's Mines(Goldsmith)..to keep this somewhat on the film music track, I love this score! Buy it for the grinding drums of 'The Crocodiles' alone!

Hey, anyone can join the fray, MST fans welcome (though this is a film music site!
I wish I could help with your question Audacity, but I don't remember that particular episode either. I've missed a number of episodes here and there (hey, it ran for about 7 years!), which is why I'm hoping someone somewhere will find a way to run them all from the start.
I also thought Crow was da man, err da bot! He kept the edge on the show, whether or not Dr. F did the voice!

PS - I got your message, Sean, and I gotta see those Master Ninja episodes! I will test out my VCR this weekend and see if I can make copies of some choice ones from my collection and send them on. Oh, and that Time of the Apes was a classic, IMHO! Javen't heard of SQUIRM, though.

Besides, it looks cool to see my name and Frank's all those times doncha think?

And don't leave Audacity behind, since they're ok too!

Now.....Maestro Frank! Time of the Apes is the best!!! One of the absolute best...get ready for quotes galore after the weekend, when I spend most of my time watching these films. Brian, I'm going to rent Mitchell and any other ones I can this weekend, and copy them. If your VCR doesn't sweat it, Ill send you Master Ninja either way.

NP reamscape(jarre)...well not yet, but its what Im playing on the way home today! Dated, but fun synth score, with good themes as usual.

    Ciao for now,
    Sean

pardon me for interupting this private thread!

MST3K was my favorite show for years. Believe it or not, it was shown on regular TV for a few years. Our local UHF station used to show the early eps with Joel..in one hour blocks at 2 am in the morning! I remember hooking the rabbit ears up each week to see the next part of the movie.

I remember one about Atlantis with Kathy Ireland....

You guys ever see Santa Claus Conquers the Martians? It was my favorite ep (followed by Mitchel). Sadly, it was from the comedy central days and is not available anywhere...I wish all the eps would be on dvd!

Hey, OHMSS76 (Sean), I talked with a friend of mine this weekend who works at a video production place and he said he could make copies of my MST3K tapes, with ease! My VCR turned out to be slightly unreliable; not all bad, but if he can dub them like a professional, I say why not! So, I'll hand over some episodes to him this week and then mail them off as soon as he's finished.
Sorry everyone else for this continuing, non-film score related thread - it started out as one though! And everyone likes MST3K, right?

Hi Mike! Of course, to quote the great Zelda Rubenstein in POLTERGEIST "All are welcome, allllll are welcome!"

The Kathy "Dull Surprise" Ireland ep you are talking about is one of the (sadly)few I still have on tape...ALIEN FROM LA!!!

It's just a freakin' riot, if ya ask me. I haven't seen Santa Vs. The Martians, but I know of the film...has Pia Zadora as a kid.
And Mitchell is the last Joel ep right? this one is one tape, and I'll be renting it soon.

Not to butt in, though I noticed that MST3K was on the Sci-Fi Channel this last weekend. Don't know how often it airs, but one could easily find out by visiting their web site and checking the online TV schedule listing.

In any case, I never did get much into the series. I did like the few I saw and the movie was okay. However, funny as it is, the one film they did that I had already seen, was better in the original. Okay, maybe not!

That would be good news, Sabbey... if I had the Sci-Fi Channel. Glad to know someone out there can still enjoy the series! Sorry it didn't click with you, I got the same lukewarm reaction when I introduced it to some of my friends. Actually, I did like it. I just never saw enough of it to be as enthusiastic about it as the rest of you!

In any case, if anyone wants some episodes of the show, I'd be more than happy to tape some. I know I am definitely interested in seeing some more of the series myself!

    Regards,
    Sean Robert Abbey

You got it, dude! Just let me know which ones you want off my list and you already know which ones I wanted from yours. I totally understand the "busy" aspect - work for me has been a pain the past two weeks! But soon we can all revel in the wit & wisdom of MST!

That would be nice, I am definitely interested in seeing more of this series. BTW, I did a search at Sci-Fi' web site, and it looks like it airs once a week. Saturday mornings at 7am PST and 10am EST.

Oh, and if you're interested, they have a web site for MST3K available!

Anyway, it's a fun show! I look forward to seeing more.

    Regards,
    Sean Robert Abbey
