Not necessarily! Just asking is all!
Used discs come in all amounts of quality. The problem is, most selling them don't really bother to take the quality of each disc into consideration. Most I see these days wouldn't even be worth using as a coaster! Though, I'd assume here, Peter would make sure they are at least playable!

But, I would if the selection is as good as it sounds like it might be!I'm usually reluctant to buy used as well. That is, I would buy more used CDs if I could find more here, but usually I'd like to check if they're allright.
That said, the discs themselves are in perfect conditions. One jewel case is cracked, but that happens to new CDs I buy in stores as well. In fact, these discs are in better shape than some new ones! Some of the covers have a hole in the middle of the bar code - nothing distracting, though I'm curious why the holes are there?
The Rózsa disc seems to have never been opened before, it still had that stupid seal on the upper sleeve. What's interesting though: The jewel case has a notch on the left sleeve, as if someone had cut it in there? It's only small, though it does go through that side of the cover. Considering the price though, I wouldn't complain about this.
All in all, I'll probably order again (though I find it annoying the the Austrian customs office seem to be more active these days).
NP: Princess Mononoke - Symphonic Suite (Joe Hisaishi) - WOW!!

Those hole-punched UPCs are usually meant as "promos," and the first few suppliers we bought these used CD lots from were selling them (we're no longer buying from them). They aren't supposed to be sold, although I've seen independent stores do it all the time. Some larger chains like the Wherehouse are starting to crack down on this. When the used store officially opens, you will see strict rules about what we buy. No cut-outs! We will sell the few that we have. No point in them just sitting around, and because we paid for them, we're not going to be the ones to eat up the costs required to get them.
Again, cut-outs will not be accepted for the used store, so if there are people out there who want to dump all their free CDs (sent from the labels) for some cash, don't come to us.

I've bought twenty or so used CDs via the net and I haven't had any problems so far.I did buy a Home Alone disc on eBay which looks like somebody took sandpaper to it, but it plays fine. (It would have been nice if this person had noted in the item desription that he disc was quite scratched, but at least it plays...)

Does that mean I can't sell you the discs again!?
Just kidding, they're all great anway.Little John: For a good price, I don't mind buying scratched CDs, as long as they still play fine - and as long as I know about it before I pay! As long as they play fine, I still can make a backup CDR copy. (Which I also should soon do with the Star Wars Special Edition CDs - those limited edition booklets are basically great, but the discs have become very scratched by now).

It means that the disk was sold at a discount (in the case of liquidated inventory) or given away (in the case of promos). The mark prevents a dealer from wrongly returning the disk for credit.

I've bought hundreds of used CDs, and I've had hardly any problems with them. My expanded RAMBO III had a scratch on it, but this mysteriously cured itself (!?) the last time I played it; and I won VIEW TO A KILL on eBay only to find a scratch on that one as well. (The seller refunded without any fuss.) My ERASER is so scratched as to be completely unreflective, but it plays perfectly. Maybe I've just been very, very lucky...The only other problems I've encountered have been miscoded discs; or rather mislabelled ones. I have a CD which purports to be Silva's re-recording of the score for THE BIG COUNTRY, but turns out to be a compilation of bad rock songs. (Unless Spandau Ballet were included in the Director's Cut of THE BIG COUNTRY...).

But by and large I've had no real problems with used CDs. Indeed, if you're after, say, A FISH CALLED WANDA, ROGER RABBIT or LINK (hell, any Varese or Milan that's been OOP for more than six months), you're going to have to go for used.
NP: REVENGE OF THE PINK PANTHER (Henry Mancini); used.
