Mad concept here to the Grinch up on Mount Crumpit, but how about this: Don't listen to it. Score garnering most Hatred? Aren't there better things to think about than stuff you hate (the most)?

Most hated score? I don't know... there are a few I dislike. But the two I dislike most are probably Maurice Jarre's Shogun and Ghost.

Oh fer cryin' out loud, have some fun in this life.

My most hated? It's hard to say that I "hate" Manabe's endearingly bad Godzilla vs. Megalon, but it's hard to think of a less appropriate score.

You know... I'm actually finding it hard to figure out what is some of the most annoying music I've ever heard. I always thought this would be easy to answer.

At first I was sure it would be something by Eric Serra or Trevor Rabin, but they've both done something that I've enjoyed too. Eric Serra's main theme to "The Messenger" and Trevor Rabin's theme to "Enemy of the State."

    Oh well.

I'm sorta with Lancelot on this one, but mostly because I can't come up with a direct answer. Why have a thread about stuff you hate? These opinions will come out in all of the other threads regardless.

And I happen to love Gremlins 2.

    NP: Morricone's "Le Professionnel"

    Hey John Z.,
I'm just curious - WHY do you "hate" Goldsmith's Gremlins ? Please tell us, because (atleast in my opinion) the original Gremlins is one of the most colorful, vibrant and "feel-good" scores Goldsmith ever created - truly "Golden Sound", just as Poltergeist and Explorers, among others.

I, personally, hate music that "does not go anywhere" - and I HATE to admit it (again) but Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer and Vangelis are (in my opinion only, ofcourse) "masters" at music that doesn't go anywhere and doesn't make me feel anything. (But, honestly, I don't hate them).

Cool down Lance. Irony, cynicism and sarcasm are cute, but you're abusing them even more than I do.

Though I can agree with you: "hating" a score or a composer is pretty ridiculous... but what can I say: I'm guilty of both.

Rabin's Gone in 60 Seconds has absolutely no value at all to me, and I actually like Rabin.

I don't know why, but I've never liked Goldsmith's Gremlins 2 score. His original is one of my favorite compositions from him, but the sequel is just too whacky I guess.

    JZ,

I figured from the "*********************/*****" rating of Return of the Jedi, that you'd love something as over-the-top as Batman Forever.

Honestly, though, I'm a Goldenthal fan and I don't own Batman Forever, so I really can't comment much on it, having never paid money for it.

I happen to like Batman Forever. It's VERY over-the-top, so you have to be in the right mood to listen to it. The awful movie simply needed a LOUD over-the-top score, so that's what it is. But when you're in the right mood, it's great.

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that apart from the main title fanfare "Just You Wait" and Christopher Lee-associated sinister cue, I DON'T CONSIDER GREMLINS 2 VERY GOOD score from Goldsmith - the original GREMLINS score was much MUCH much MUCH more wilder, magical, and in one word ORIGINAL than the music for the sequel.................Sorry guys, just my honest opinion
