Sean, I guess it's your lucky day. Amazon has The Magnificent Seven for sale, and I just got one from them the other month. It was backordered last time I looked, but I would wager they should have some more in by now.

On DVD, I picked up the Predator/Predator 2 pack. Too bad the only special features are theatrical trailers. I don't recall enjoying Predator 2 as much as I did today the first time I saw it.
As a rather early Christmas present yesterday I was given the Aliens Vs. Predator game. The reason I mention this is because the 2nd CD has the soundtrack to the game on it. 70mins worth of music. It's not too shabby, but I wouldn't get overly excited over it. Some parts are quite obviously ripping off 'Futile Escape' from the ALIENS movie.
Also worth mentioning is that in the booklet that comes with the game it gives thanks (amongst other names) to Elliot Goldenthal, Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner...but not Alan Silvestri.
Hmmmmm.
On it's way is Return to Oz (movie) and Bernstein's score to Ghostbusters.

The Red Violin.I think that will probably do it for now. I'm in a giving mode right now (as I usually am at Christmas), but I'll probably pick up a couple more during the month.

REBECCA (Franz Waxman, on Marco Polo, conducted by Adriano): Tell me what's wrong with me! I love most of Franz Waxman's stuff, and I know that Rebecca was Waxman's own favourite, but I've heard this four times now, and it still hasn't made much of an impression. This is quite worrying!FINAL FANTASY (Elliot Goldenthal): Heard this on the radio first, then went right out to buy it. Heavy, but nearly brilliant.
VATEL (Ennio Morricone): Haven't heard it yet.

Nothing wrong with you Graham. Rebecca's best cues wound up in the Gerhardt suite-- the rest of the score isn't as good and Adriano's version of it is atrocious. There was talk about Varese doing another re-record of this but I don't think anything came of it.NP: Il Tetto (Alessandro Cicognini)
