    ME!!! ME!!! ME!!!

Alright, so sue me. It's a great score, really! You just have to give it a chance. I agree it is lacking in complexity compared to the more famous Goldsmith compositions. However, I liked the score from the beginning, but after listening to it 50 times more, it became my 3rd favorite. The movie is also one of my favorites.

Some people say it is also lacking in themes. Actually, like most other Goldsmith scores, ALONG CAME A SPIDER is full of hidden surprises. It has many themes, and they are used in various ways. Some subtle, some not.

At first, I didn't see anything "special" about the music either. But then I listened closer, and realized that [as incomplex as it was], there is no other score that sounds exactly like it. The score to ACAS is the signature of the movie. The adventurous mood created with the orchestra/electronics in "The Ransom", the adrenaline-pumping "Megan Overboard", and the beginning stinger & jumpy end to "Megan's Abduction" are all pieces that basically give the movie a musical voice. This applies to all scores, some just aren't as appreciated as others. It's just like with John Williams JAWS theme.

Anyway, to the main message of this topic. Now, I really think this score is worth the expansion treatment. At first, when I rented the movie, I didn't think I was missing much. After closer inspection, I noticed more of the non-action scene music was missing. Now don't laught, but I suggested this to Varese Sarabande. However, I don't think they would do it, so then I contacted Silva because they have made many good re-releases in the past. I also [and you'll reaaly want to hold on to your side for this one] timed the missing cues, named them, and basically made my own fantasy expanded edition. Some tracks have multiple cues in them because they would work very well on their own.

    Testing (5:18)
    Alone (1:08)
    Megan's Abduction (3:23)
    Very Poetic (4:58)*
    Missing Picture (9:15)*
    Megan Overboard (4:53)
    A Bigger Fish (3:05)*
    Cop Killer (3:53)
    Hoodwinked (1:46)*
    The Ransom (7:30)
    A Terrible Thing (3:16)*
    Profiling (3:48)
    Not My Partner (5:01)

    Total Time (57:14)

    *Unreleased

C'mon! I can't be the only one that thinks this is a good idea!

BTW [in case anybody gives a **** ]: I made my own fan art for it. If anybody wants to see, please contact
