    Bravo, Kevin. Bravo.

By the way, for those interested, Danny Boy's back at Filmtracks making his same old "pot, kettle, black" comments. Woof, woof.

Dan: some kind of information would be quite helpful. Just so you know, apparently Loran sent his demo to De Laurentis in an effort to get the Alexander the Great project he's producing. Oy, vey.

Yeah - since Loran is still publically claiming I've said nasty evil malicious things about him (when if you read ANY of my posts, I've done nothing of the sort), I'll be more than happy to make sure I DO put in a phone call or two.

If you could do that, it would be great. Perhaps it would be more than enough to shut up both him and Daniel2, who has decided to be the only person sticking up for Poochy (aka Loran, aka Narol) right now.

Oh, can you believe this? Loran said his real name is Narol Nalasviad! ROFL!

I really didn't want to comment on this subject but if I were Loran the LAST person I'd want sticking up for me is Daniel2. Now he seems to be friendly with Daniel as well and he claims Galina will be mad at those who insulted him when she returns from vacation. While Loran is a real person it makes you really start to wonder about other identities of people on these message boards.

I just headed over to Filmtracks and read some of the posts over there about this subject. Navigating the old POS Perl WebBBS was quite painful, but I just had to see the scoop.

It's quite upsetting to see Daniel2 (an imaginary being on these boards who can't even show his true identity) defending Loran, and then Loran comes in and thanks him for it?

Loran is claiming he sent his demo to these companies and that magically a week later his name is listed under these movies? I'm sorry, but why would a movie studio care about updating their IMDB entries for music so quickly? And for a movie two years down the road? "Official consideration" is what Loran calls it. Is that enough to be listed as a composer of a film?

Sorry. Does not compute. The hole keeps getting deeper.

Oh and Loran, when you do invite Daniel2 to your recording session in 2003, could you please take some pictures so we can see who this guy really is? Thanks.

    Timmer:

This thread is only going about exposing someone for the fraud he is. When the whole debacle started, Loran went around ranting and raving that every credit on his IMDB page was true! When people began to doubt and poke fun (some a little overboard, but it's the internet, what can you do?), Loran EXPLODED, claiming he was going to stop composing and use all of his power to shut down MM.com, FSM, rec.music.movies, etc. He decided to reverse his stance, but now he's all pissy that his IMDB page keeps changing, and says that NONE of the projects on there now are his. But, this obviously doesn't compute, seeing as how both Solaris and Thunderbirds 2000 were on both lists, and he claimed that he was scoring those. Now he and the hypocrite are over at Filmtracks stirring up **** in their black pots and kettles. Especially sad is that Loran has INVITED the hypocrite to a "scoring session" he claims he will have in 2003! Yet, he'll invite none of us (like I'd really want to go). I guess his only "friend" there will be a purple dinosaur from Disney World. Heh.

And speaking of Daniel2, if you're such an honest person, who has admitted to all of his frailties, I think you should listen to what you so poorly preach and "reveal" yourself, to everyone, right now. If you think you're so "high and mighty" in trying to expose everyone as arrogant *******s, practice what you speak. And like Andy said at Filmtracks: name calling is a practice of those who are pre-teens. Unless your maturity level hasn't risen beyond your shoe size yet. There is a big, big difference, hypocrite, in saying "You generous!" over "You prick!" The former, that just doesn't work. Say it out loud, you'll realize how stupid you sound.

Golly Jeron, Do are you really just "naive and easily-led simpleton who runs with the fox and the hounds?"

And Mark and Jonathan: Good to see you really don't have "humanity and compassion."

This is funny stuff! There's an obvious psychopathic personality on the loose over there, defending another psychologically disturbed individual who's suffering from delusional fantasies. I'll bet this "Loran" fool is the others' cousin or something, and they are in cahoots making this all up.

    Mark & Jeron,
And everone else involved with this incident as well. I'm afraid I have limited knowledge of what has gone on while I was on holiday, but have been able to gather some of it from what I have read here & at Filmtracks. The threads at FSM were relatively useless as Loran had deleted all his threads. I have e-mailed Loran and hope to hear back from him soon so that I may find out his version of what has transpired.

I must say that I am upset with the things that I have read, but I am at a loss to this because I can only read two versions of this story for the most part. There are those who are attacking Loran and the defense by Daniel2, whom I feel would do anything to get the attention he craves, and this was the perfect conflict for him to do it, it seems. All I know is that Loran has always treated me with the upmost respect and kindness. His words have always seemed to me that they are from a truly kind and gentle soul, and I have great respect for his talent as an up and coming composer. It brings me great sadness to see how aggressive some of these posts have been to him, and I am surprised that this venom has come from my fellow film music fans. I thought so much more out of all of us.

Mark, and especially Jeron...I had assumed that we had developed a sincere friendship over the last few years and now it seems you doubt my identity is true since Loran felt I would be upset when I found out about how people are acting towards him, and because my name was used with Daniel2 in the same post from Loran at Filmtracks. If you really doubt my identity, I encourage you to come to Cincinnati for a visit. You can meet me, my husband and our two children for lunch. In the meantime, if you will e-mail (you both already have it since you have e-mailed me in the past) me your phone number and a time that you will be home (use Eastern standard time please), and I will give you a call. I can't promise I will be in a friendly mood, however, considering how little faith you have in me being a real person.

    Galina

    Gala,

I don't really think Mark (and others) are saying you're a fake. I think they are bringing up the point that you never know when anyone is being honest about who they are on the internet.

It's funny, because just the other day Jeron and I were having this same conversation. He was thinking what it would be like to meet up with me when I ever make it out to L.A., and if I'm the same person that I am online. I made the statement that the Internet is a great place to be "not yourself." And I don't mean those dirty old pervs trying to seduce teenage girls.

I'm talking about just "embellishment" of facts. Online, ugly people can act like they're beautiful; poor people can act rich; shy people can be more outgoing.

Of course, there's the flip side of that as well, and that's where "Loran" and his ilk come in. No one is singling you out for being "fake," but we don't see you putting obviously outrageous things in your profile or in the message boards.

Like the line from "Holy Grail:"

    quote:
"I mean, if I went around saying I was emperor just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, people would put me away."

When you start just making things up out of the blue, people are going to get suspicious. And the more inquisitive are going to search for the truth.

And you never know. Maybe we are trying to stick up for you, since your name was mentioned by "those people" on the other site. Maybe they are trying to take advantage of you by making you believe their stories of fame and fortune. And we just don't want to see you get dragged down with them.

Of course, I'm not speaking for others, but that's my take on it.

    Kevin

I have to say how amusing I find it that after a little criticism/exploitation (and after implying he was somewhat of a musical genius), the guy would just 'quit composing'.

Galina... hey girl. I never proposed that you were fake! Where'd you get that idea? Sounds like you've been talking to D2 a little too much... e-mail me with your concerns if you have any. As far as I'm concerned, you're innocent until proven guilty. And I really don't have the time (nor the desire) to go on a witch hunt.

Kevin has the right idea... if anything, I want to lend my support to you. I didn't particularly like Loran using your name as a point of validation, especially since you were obviously out of town and didn't give permission for him to do so. Normally, I wouldn't see this as a problem... but this is obviously a much larger deal to some, and I think you would want to give consent on the matter.

As for a phone call? I would love the opportunity to speak to you, but let's wait until this whole thing has blown over... I'd like you to be in a good mood. How's that?

    Your friend,
    Jeron

    Well, I got some confirmation.

It is the official 20th Century Fox position that Loran Alan Davis is not involved in any of their projects (SOLARIS, LOST IN SPACE: THE JOURNEY HOME), nor has he ever been.

I would wager to bet the same thing applies to the Cruise/Wagner projects, but am still waiting on confirmation on their end.

Galina, Jeron's right on the money with his response to you and I think my original post reflects my feelings based on what Loran and Daniel2 have been posting at Filmtracks. If you have a problem with that then there's nothing more I can say.

I don't know Loran, never talked with him but like Dan pointed out in his first post, it's kinda odd that projects started appearing under his name that haven't started yet. I think that is what the majority of people were pointing out.

It doesn't help that Loran deleted most of his posts but if you want my opinion his responses were very un-professional. He could have handled the situation with a little more tact.

If you feel the need to further this discussion then you may do so. The fact that you singled me and Jeron out by name considering others said much worse didn't really sit too well with me. If you would have been on these message boards as long as some of us have then you might understand why we are skeptical about indentities.

Mark, the reason I singled out you and Jeron is due to your post reprinted above, which Jeron agreed with. Perhaps I misread it due to my lack of expertise with the English language, but it seemed like you were doubting who I am. If I have misjudged the intent of what you were saying about me, than I sincerely apologise for any offense you may have taken. You are right, I wasn't here when all this was happening so my knowledge is very limited. It just seemed like I was being dragged into this and having my identity questioned by two men who I thought (and still hope) were my friends. I am glad that it now seems like that was not your intent.

    Mark

Galina misinterpreted and she felt the need to defend her herself. Considering your initial post I can understand her line of thinking.

Please remember - she just got back from a holiday and suddenly she's been thrown in the middle of a witch-hunt.

Okay - maybe she shouldn't have singled you out in the beginning of her post BUT
Galina goes on to re-mention you and Jeron in the wake of sincere friendship. That's a nice thing to say amidst the confusion.

If you re-read her last paragraph - she is upset because she thinks her identity is being questioned.

Overall, Galina's response to the matter was polite.

Well, I see Mark just got flamed by the "agent of evil" over on the other message board, and said evil one was even trying to suck up to Galina, as I think he (or should I say "it") is becoming aware that she is seeing "the truth" at last.

At least we here on MM.com are the "bringers of truth and light" in these sorrowful times of message board darkness.

Gala, stay with us in the light. Don't go to the dark places.
