Yeah! The super-special third release! Maybe if you could stop patting yourself on the back for a minute, you could find out the information about that.
And of course I don't see track times anywhere.... Hmm. Brian, can you help out on this?

The third release is still being finalized. It's gonna happen. It will be a limited release of 5,000 discs. It will be available only online, most likely through Reprise, and offered to folks in the LOTR fan club, mailing lists, and other stuff like that. (So if you ever saw something that asked you to "sign up", and you did, you'll be offered it.)As for what the extras will be.... as I said: "More details will be announced shortly." (I don't know these details yet.)

I realize you don't know the specifics, but in general are there rumblings of more music, or CD-ROM material or maybe a collectable sticker or something? How impatient should we be? Perspiring minds want to know.

As you yourself correctly point out, I don't know the specifics yet. So any conjecture on my part would simply add fire to rumors that my original post was trying to clarify.
So, until I know more, I'm not gonna say.

I mean, yeah we're mostg likely talking about a 75+ minute CD, but it's nice to know how long tracks are. Are there a few short ones, and then long epic passages? And are these tracks you posted (with the "featuring...") info: are these songs in the sense of "songs" or the type that Enya did for FOTR?
I'm curious, that's all.

You know what they say curiosity did to the cat..... When I know more (track times, song info, etc.) I will let you know. I CAN say, though, that the "songs" for the most part appear to be (based on my info) similar to the songs IN the score (you know, sung in Elvish, etc...), except for "Gollum's Song", which appears to be a "regular" song. (More like "In Dreams" than "May It Be".)

So will there be any possiblity for lesser mortals like me to get that special limited thing? Or should I just better not care to begin with?1. Foundations Of Stone
Interesting title.
14. Breath Of Life (featuring Sheila Chandra)
This too.
16. Forth Eorlingas (featuring Ben Del Maestro)
Could this be some sort of battle song!?
18. Samwise The Brave
No Shelob in the movie and yet a brave Samwise? Interesting.
19. Gollum's Song (performed by Emiliana Torrini)
Sounds cool as well.

'Long time I fell, and he fell with me. His fire was about me, and I was burned. Then we plunged into the deep water and all was dark....There I came at last, to the uttermost foundations of stone.'I think this solves the mystery of the film's opening.

Oooh, excellent! And you're more witty than the people at TheOneRing.net. I tried to avoid the movie spoilers by not reading too many of the opening scene speculations, but I know that one idea was they might open with the Balrog fight - and yet when they read the tracklisting, they thought "Foundations of Stone" might be a referece to Emyn Muil (sp?).

well, one of the "songs" in the score is sung in Dwarvish, called "The Abyss" - and underscores Gandalf's fight with the Balrog. It could very well be part of "Foundations of Stone"....Dan

Hmm, that's very likely then. The only other title that could fit is Breath of Life, but it seems to be too late in the track order, several tracks after White Rider.

Jeron,I do yes... Firstly, that specific chapter (14) on disc 2 of the extended cut is also titled 'Farewell to Lorien' and it's the longest new cue in that 6 and a half minute sequence.
There are two vocal portions in the cue, the main one is a very soft female choir backing which is just so moving it hurts, then there is a granderfemale choir motif as Galadriel bids farewell to Frodo which is equally moving.
What part Hilary Summers played I have no idea, enless she provided the backing for the female choir bit and they just layered here voice or something because their is no lead vocal to this cue as heard in the extended cut...
It could be the same cue still, but with a lead vocal not heard in even the extended cut. What's clear to me is this is an important cue to both PJ and Shore (rightly so, it's stunning as is the entire scene), and it's noted and briefly isolated in the music featurette on disc 4, and now it looks to be on the ltd TT score CD. There's obviously a want from the production team to have people hear this cue...
Jim,Importers of Region 1 DVD products here in the UK have no reason to stick to US streedates... I've had Episode II sat here since Thursday too.

I know this has nothing to do about the score (Ok, I can't wait to hear it) but the one thing I'm looking forward to most in this movie is seeing the Ents. Well, that and the Oliphunt (or however you spell it).

I did just re-check the FOTR extended credits, and Hilary Summers is not credited so whatever she contributes to that cue we'll hear on the ltd Two Towers is not heard within the film. Curious...Elizabeth Fraser is credited with Enya, Edward Ross...etc for (non specified) vocal duties.
