TheMatrix.com posted track listings for the 2-Disc set. Looks like there will be 4 tracks by Don Davis on Disc 2. Otherwise it is a "songs" album. But the second disc only has 7 tracks and the last track (Reloaded Suite) is 17:34 long. Adding up the track times, it looks like we almost get as much music as the original matrix release. But we are being forced to buy the "song" album along with the score album. Although I'm sure it's being marketed the other way around.

I sure hope so. The score release for the first movie doesn't do the music justice either, far too short.

Now, are all these songs really in the movie? I didn't mind the use of songs in the first movie, with the exception of one or two songs I actually liked it. But unless these discs contain songs not in the movie (not that that would be any surprise, of course), it seems too much

Unfortunately, I'd bet this means they are not planning a score only album, as the 2nd disc in this set appears to be just score. Some of the score appears to be done by "Juno Reactor" and "Rob D".

Here is the track listing of Disc 2:
    1. Don Davis - Main Title (1:30)
    2. Don Davis - Trinity Dream (1:56)
    3. Juno Reactor - Tea House (1:04)
    4. Rob D - Chateau (3:26)
    5. Juno Reactor - Mona Lisa Overdrive (10:17)
    6. Don Davis vs. Juno Reactor - Burfy Brawl (5:52)
    7. Don Davis - Reloaded Suite (17:34)

Rob D is also listed as composing an instrumental track for the first disc, track 4:
    4. Rob D - Furious Angels (instrumental) (5:29)

Anyway, this makes about 46 minutes of "score" -- 41 minutes on Disc 2 and 5:29 on Disc 1 -- although only about 27 minutes is from Davis.

Who's Juno Reactor? I have no idea, but here' s a little blurb on "Juno Reactor" I found on the web:
"Not many bands can claim they can cross many musical boundaries with the ease that Juno Reactor has. Trance, techno, industrial, pop, rock, dance, and world Juno Reactor has touched them all. Their newest release, “Odyssey 1992-2002,” is a celebration of their on-going achievements. Featuring the best of the best Juno Reactor tracks from all of their albums, as well the newest track, “Hotaka,” it highlights some of the most interesting collaborators that the band has ever worked with. It's Juno Reactor doing what they have always done and what they do best - pushing the music in new directions and constantly challenging the concept of what an electronic-based band should be and sound like. Look out for Juno Reactor’s Ben Watkins on the score of the upcoming blockbuster “Matrix 2!” On Metropolis [Street Date March 4th] "

So I bet they are helping out with the score which would make the 2nd disc entirely score, although only 4 tracks are from Davis. You'll notice that one track is from Rob D who also did an instrumental track for the first Matrix song album. The track is called "Clubbed to Death", track 4 (it kind of sounds like something from the Unearthed album by E.S. Posthumus)

Hmm, having heard Juno Reactor before, I think they finally decided to put in the machines' perspective (as opposed to the organic nature of Don Davis) in terms of the score, which I thought was completely missing from the first movie. Rob D doesn't really hurt, either. But I am not quite sure if the 2nd disc is ALL instrumental, though.

So there's no way to skip purchasing the first disc? I guess this is okay, considering now mainstream rock/techno/electronica/metal fans who purchase the soundtrack purely for the first disc would finally be "forced" to listen to film SCORE!!! Those ignorant bastards! Heh. That is, unless they skip listening to the second disc like I probably would with the first disc.

And what exactly is "Don Davis vs. Juno Reactor?" A rip from Ecks vs. Sever? Which ironically, Davis also scored....

That Furious Angel track is old. I have it on my computer right now. It's a precursor to Clubbed To Death. I haven't heard about Chateau yet..... Though...

Don worked with Juno Reactor on the film, so I'm sure it's all gonna work.

I found a source at MTV News that confirms the second disc is 40 min of score.

You've both made my day with this news, but I'm also envious that you scooped me on this news! It's not like it's hard, but man the information being there rules! Thanks for that!

Just an FYI, if you grab the set the first day at a place like Best Buy, I'm betitng it will be under 15 bucks, because they will want to push the album big time.

Actually, there are two versions of this album. They are also releasing a "clean" version.
But why is the clean version about $4-6 more than the unclean version?

What's up with that!? Are they really going to penalize people who just don't want to hear all that *#^%? (Irony intended)

    So now the question becomes:
will the second disc have the same music as the first, plus 10-15 minutes more.

Does anyone know if this soundtrack will have that "Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics" note anywhere on it.

Anyone familiar with some of the songs? Are they "friendly" enough? :-p

Do you know that for sure? (That it's even gonna be an "explicit version" to start with?) Or are you just guessing, and presuming they're gonna put out two versions?
