    From the Don Davis website:

    The Matrix Revolutions Soundtrack Information
September 26th, 2003 - The Maverick Records soundtrack to The Matrix Revolutions will be released on November 4, 2003, one day before the movie opens, and will have over an hour of music on it, including the song "In My Head" by Pale 3, which plays in the Merovingian's Hell Club (3:46), two cues that feature Don Davis' collaboration with Juno Reactor, a 9 minute end credit re-mix of Don Davis' "Super Burly Brawl" music by Juno Reactor, and 45 minutes of orchestral underscore by Don Davis. Apparently no rock bands were inspired by this movie.

Davis did say that this film would feature mostly just score, so it's no surprise that there's a lack of songs on this one.

Much as I'm pleased that we're getting a mainly-Davis CD, I was hoping maybe there'd be some new Rob Dougan material in the film.

    Ah well, still great news.

Very true, I liked what Juno Reactor did to the score on Reloaded. Can't wait to hear what they do this time.

WOW! Just this morning I was wondering when we might see track titles show up, since I know they were done recording the score recently. I figured it'd still be a week or so away. This is quite exciting! And three Juno Reactor/Davis tracks? I guess the W Bros liked the collaboration so much from Reloaded they asked for more in Revolutions.

So how did Wickenstein get the full cue list, I wonder?

Hey Marian. Is it Wachowski Brothers:P ?

As for my source, I got it from a comingsoon.net post about the Neodammerung clip. As I said, I suspected it was real, but I didn't want to post info and get blasted in case it was fake. I'm not sure where Jim Ware got his info from.

My question is, do you think the "super brawl" music is Neodammerung, and if so is that what Navras is a remix of? The cue Neodammerung is only 5:57, but the Navras cue is supposedly 9 min long. Could it contain the cue Why Mr. Anderson as well?

Also, if you add up the track time from the tracklist I found for the one Jm posted, I don't think you get 45 mins of pure Don Davis. I'm speculating that maybe the last cue, Spirit of the Universe, is a combination of the final three cues on the tracklisting I found. It would only make sense that way cause I can't imagine Davis leaving off the final three cues on the album.

Seems to be. The title immediately looked like an anagram to me, and the obvious idea was "Wachowski Brothers" - but with "Workhouse" I couldn't rearrange the letters accordingly.

The tracklist came from Don Davis' site, specifically a section of the site which requires a login and password.

Apparently the tracklist has since been revised, so the one above is a work-in-progress.

I talked to Don on Friday, and have a 7 track promo for Revolutions, and yes, many of these titles are correct.

(Which incidentally, I only mention because, like Goldenthal, Davis' track titles are part of the fun.)

Fans shoudld enjoy it quite a bit. I say fans because this is unquestionably a Matrix score, so it's unlikely to covert anyone who didn't enjoy the first two.

There's a bit of a military edge to this one, a huge choral action piece--the Neodammerung that's been partially heard on Davis' site--but I think the finale features the best writing. It reminds me, in tone, of Goldenthal's finale from Alien 3, though not in content.

Thanks Doug for the preview! I am greatly a fan of Davis's work on these films, so I am sure I will enjoy Revolutions. It's wonderful that he is getting almost a full album to himself, after all he has contributed to the series. Reading through the recent issue of MusicFromTheMovies really gives you an idea of how intimately he knows these films, how much thought he puts into each bar of music and how much his music defines the Matrix more than the pop songs.

    Hello!

Is there any official approval of the OST Tracklisting Jim Ware posted? The album looks good the way it is, but it's strange that listing is neither on davis' official homepage nor on the website of Maverick Records...

oh, and thanks Doug for your impressions on the score, I've no doubt I'll love it, as the first two are my favourite scores in some way ...
