Hey, we're all about dead polls. The current horse-racing poll is dead. There is a photo finish for second place... but who the heck cares about second place?

The next poll will either be a poll on the best score of summer 2003, or the best damed horror score ever (pumpkins are already showing up on porches out here).

What will it be? Cast your nominations for finalists in whichever poll you think is most appropriate as we head into October....

    Tanks.

Since we've all run out of poll ideas years ago, what about this:

Make your polls multiple choice trivia questions, something that's film music related and really hard to find out. Then after a few weeks, post the solution and start the next round.

At least I like the idea.

Ok. Horror it is. Since no one's into recommending finalists, here's the poll:

    Best ever horror film score?

    1) Dentist
    2) Dentist II
    3) House
    4) House II: The Second Story
    5) Night of the Demons 3

    Go!

    Something by Benny.

    Psycho?

If people need help jogging their memories (horror scores aren't my favorite,) visit the IMDB Power search. Enter your favorite composer in the cast/crew box, then choose the horror genre and watch the magic happen.

    NP: Moross via Crapophonic™

I'll go for the horror category but, geeze, what's a horror poll without Psycho, The Mephisto Waltz or one of the Omens?

How about some good horrow scores there Pete? I haven't even heard OF any of the those scores. Although I'm not a huge Horror score buff don't ya know it.

    I was thinking like,

    (a) Psycho
    (b) Alien
    (c) Predator
    (d) The Relic
    (e) Dreamcatcher

Something along these lines seems more appropriate. Just my two cents.

This poll clearly requires at least two Hans Zimmer scores.

Omen should definitely be on there.

I'm not sure about Alien or really recent like Dreamcatcher.

Blatently should be horror. How about the following?:

    Psycho
    The Omen
    Bride of Frankenstein
    Suspiria
    Halloween

Although that's missing out the likes of (Horror of) Dracula, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Friday the 13th, Don't Look Now, Poltergeist, Alien, Mimic, Hellraiser, Nosferatu, Silence of the Lambs, Alien3, Interview with the Vampire, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Exorcist II, Stendhal Syndrome, Black Sunday, Rosemary's Baby etc. Any of them could be worthy choices.

Ok, now you guys get it! It is tough to narrow down... I should think 6 or 7 will make the final list, 4 being Zimmer scores (aren't ALL Zimmer scores considered horror scores?).

By the way, when speaking of polls:
What about a poll for the "Best Theme Park Attraction Music by a Movie Music Composer"?

Here are some extremely good examples:

    1) Ellen's Energy Adventure (WDW, EPCOT) by Bruce Broughton

    2) Phantom Manor (Disneyland Paris) by John Debney

    3) StormRider (Tokyo DisneySea) by Mark Mancina

    4) Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show (Disneyland Paris) by George Fenton

    5) The Timekeeper (WDW, Magic Kingdom) by Bruce Broughton

    6) Space Mountain DLP (Disneyland Paris) by Steve Bramson

    7) Honey, I Shrunk the Audience (WDW, EPCOT) by Bruce Broughton

    8) SpectroMagic Parade (WDW, Magic Kingdom) by John Debney

    etc.

    Regards,
    KEN
who, by the way, spends next week in Paris and Disneyland Paris

Suggestion: "Best Sea-faring score of 2003"

Camillu, here will be the results of such a poll:

    01% Sinbad
    99% Pirates of the Caribbean
    00% Master and Commander
    00% Finding Nemo

Sinbad gets 1% because a lot of people don't read polls... but click on the first thing they see.

Okay, it's October 1 and a new month. Seriously, September 2007 was one of the busiest months of my entire life. New poll will be up within a day!

Thanks for hanging in there. Quitting a site because it has an old poll is a pretty lame excuse anyway
