Small correction - it's not clips, it's the entire tracks!

    Neodammerung baby!

    Update:

First of all, the choir music from the latest theatrical trailer is original music from this score.

Neodammerung is quite mind-blowingly great, but there's much more.

The 'Mona Lisa type' cue of this CD is called Navras and has a distinct Indian flavour.

Tetsujin is another great, albiet shorter track by Davis/Juno Reactor.

Spirit of the Universe is one of the best pieces of music I've heard all year.
It starts of sounding a bit like the Toons just found Marvin Acme's will, and then gets all operatic and gorgeous. Then a lovely StarWars-like horn comes in, followed by a solo voice, and even a Silvestri-like flute and a heart-tugging viola (is it?). The track never lets up before ending in superb Matrix fashion.
    Jaw-dropping.

    NP: Great stuff.

I always wonder why such news are never availiable on THE page that should be the first to contain them, Davis' official homepage http://dondavis.com ??

But apart from that, the score is great and should be at least considered for an oscar

Sometimes a composer is not aware of what is happening with their music when a record label, particularly one as mammoth as Maverick/WEA, is handling the album. I don't think anyone at Maverick was thinking of contacting Mr. Davis to let him know about the samples when they were publishing the site. It happens.

Well, that's comprehensivly, but at least the tracklisting that was published on amazon.com a week ago should be on his homepage by now?

    Anyhow, great score!

Just curious as to what the situation is with both this & Reloaded, & if they'll be eligible as sequel scores. I'm guessing RotK will be ruled out.

The listing at Amazon.com doesn't include a tracklist. So what are you talking about?
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000DJYQ4/

In defense of Don Davis and his website, there isn't someone sitting around 24 hours a day primed for the next bit of info to surface!

On a totally different tangent, but still somewhat on topic (as I haven't heard these clips yet)...

Does anyone here know where the Wachowski Bros. got their major inspiration from for the MATRIX movie series? Here's a hint: check out the track listing for Davis's part of THE MATRIX RELOADED. Seems like a nod to the originator to me.

After having discovered the source of the MATRIX, it doesn't lessen the impact of the movies for me at all; it enhances them. In light of this, I think EVERYONE who has trashed any part of this franchise would be well served to seek out the source material. Maybe then will they have more appreciation for the MATRIX series as a whole.

Mmmm... I like The Trainman Cometh. And Neodammerung. And Spirit of the World. I'm going to try and resist the temptation to listen to the others before the album is released.

    Hi!

I'm sorry, I didn't want to offend anyone, but an update once a week of an official homepage from a composer might be reasonable in my eyes, but it's the composer's choice weather he want's an up-to-date homepage or not

    BTW:
    I meant Amazon.co.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000E2RE5/ref=sr_aps_music_1_1/026-3617158-5673268
    as well as Amazon.de http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000DJYQ4/qid=1067168261/sr=2-1/ref=sr_aps_prod_1_1/028-6709755-1118933

The track listing at Maverick's site has some seriously wrong track times on it.

Neodammerung is listed as 2:36, but the sample of that track runs for 5:57.

Kidfried is 4:46, not 3:23 as stated.

Awesome! Did anybody honestly expect anytyhing close to this from Davis for the third "Matrix?" This is a *BIG,* epic score. Probably Davis' finest to date.

It reminds me a little bit of Chris Young's excellent "Hellraiser II," in terms of power. Anyway, this will be a score that most film score fans will enjoy.

Actually, we all DID expect this to sound epic because about 4 months ago Davis stated that in an interview. So everyone prepped themselves for an awesome epic score. Nothing should've be surprising when you heard an epic tone to the clips

    Justin,

This score is, to ME, a very unexpected surprise because I didn't read the interview. But thanks for chiming in anyway.

    Take care,
