after the stunning success of the Goldsmith set, the schedules have been cleared for a range of deluxe six-disc releases.Following the discovery of dozens of hours of session recording material, we have
"Bernard Herrmann Shouting at 20th Century Fox"
Yes, over six discs, hear Herrmann berating violin players, chastising trombonists and snorting derisively at visiting studio heads."Panpipes at 20th Century Fox"
SEVEN hours of your favourite pan-pipe melodies which conclusively demonstrate the incredible overuse of this not-very versatile instrument."Ford Thaxton at 20th Century Fox"
IMHO FYI a deluxe CD set featuring ALL the links from Ford's music show WITHOUT the irritating bootleg music tracks. Who can forget such classics as :"They don't call it SHOWbusiness for nothing"
"Have you been taking your meds today?"
"Stick to topics you have a clue about."
and 12 exclusive new remixes of "Fanboy"."Varese Sarabande at 20th Century Fox"
How does all that rare music reach the CD?
Well now is your chance to hear that process in full!Disc 1 : The sounds of cans being moved about in a fevered search for the missing elements from "Damnation Alley".
Disc 2 : The audible gasps and sharp intakes of breath of Robert Townson and Nick Redman as they discover Jerry Goldsmith's rejected score for "Titanic"
Disc 3 : The noise of tape being wound, rewound and then jamming as the oxide melts onto the magnetic heads.
Disc 4 : The noise of studio doors at Paramount and Universal shutting in the producer's face.

Yes, over six discs, hear Herrmann berating violin players, chastising trombonists and snorting derisively at visiting studio heads. That actually might be worth $130.

LOL indeed. This batch of Club titles is as useless as the previous ones.Although at least this one is hilarious, whereas the previous ones were tragically ridiculous in the fake pomposity accorded to overrated underscores.
Good one, Jeff!

Rumour has it the 6-disc 'Varese Sarabande at Fox' has a dramatic recreation of the meeting where the $130 price was set for the Goldsmith set based on the minutes of that meeting featuring James Woods and Al Pacino playing company managing accountant and 'director of projects' respectively.Promotional transcripts can be found on the Varese website:
Dir: $130??? Is this a fanboy friendly firm, or is this a record company?
Acc: The fact that I have to answer that is frankly insulting to the monopolistic position we enjoy at this moment.
Dir: But we only got one #$^$^@% studio to play ball! You tell me - how are we going to package that?
Acc: We've already drafted the press release in which you'll describe it as the single most important release the company has ever attempted.
Dir: Figures... worked for Star Trek Nemesis, right?
Acc: That was Jerry Goldsmith at Paramount. This is Jerry Goldsmith at Fox. The discerning buyer with know the difference.

The future edtion, "Thor At Fox 20CD" has been cancelled since Thor didn't want to be part of some compilation. In a quote by Thor he said, "Ah, but does Leather feel nice..."
