It's nice that everybody's working, but for all the names on the list it's a pretty bleak-looking fall and winter coming up. The vintage CD releases from FSM, Intrada, BYU and Varese have been by far the most interesting material for quite some time now.

Klaus Badelt: CatwomanWhat happened to Graeme Revell anyway? Did he record anything?
Christophe Beck: The Pink Panther.
All right, again, his score will probably be the only saving grace. I can't wait!
Terence Blanchard: Blade: Trinity.
Never heard anything by him. Willing to give him a chance.
Nerida Tyson-Chew: Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid
I read in another thread that she is raising in her country and she also did additional score for the Batman: the Animated Series epiosde, "Zantana", so I only have high hopes for her. Cursed with the last name Tyson-Chew, maybe over there it doesn't mean anything, but over here we think of a certain boxing incident...
John Debney: Christmas With the Pranks
This looks to be a fun romp of a score. :-)
Alexandre Desplat: Birth / Hostage / The Upside of Anger.Who?
Danny Elfman: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
This should prove to be interesting. Either that, or it will suck and sound like gypsy music.
George Fenton: Bewitched
Bad idea for a remake. The score should be very interesting.
James Horner: The Forgotten.
Well, it's Horner. Let there be hope and no danger mortif.
James Newton Howard: Collateral
Ah, still 50/50% on this one. Any scene that may call for something big, might be covered in some horrible song and what little J.N.H. gets to do, might not be anything noteworthy.
Harald Kloser: Alien vs Predator.
And Thomas Wanker. I think this will be okay at best, but still fun.
Joseph LoDuca: Boogeyman.
All right! Please tell me he isn't scoring some sh!tty cartoon remake and now moving on to movies.
Mark McKenzie: Blizzard.
Clips on his site make it sound interesting.
Alan Menken: Noel.
Has he left disney yet already?
Julian Nott: The Wallace and Gromit Movie: Curse of the Wererabbit.
Yay!
John Ottman: Cellular
Cool. Saw the trailer and it was pretty suspenceful. Hope the score will be as well.
Rachel Portman: The Manchurian Candidate / Because of Winn-Dixie.
Don't know about the first, heard bad things about it already. And the second ... what are you doing girl!?
Lalo Schifrin: The Bridge of San Luis Rey.
Okay, I will assume this is jsut another war movie. Cause don't all war movies have "bridge over" on the title?
Marc Shaiman: Team America: World Police.
Theodore Shapiro: The Baxter. The first one, yeah'! The second ... isn't that the Starsky and Hutch movie composer's name?
Edward Shearmur: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
Can't wait.
Alan Silvestri: Polar Express
Saw the trailer, don't know if this film will call for a great score.
Vangelis: Alexander.
Waiting and hope it is full orchastra and not synth heavy as that 3mins preview clip sounded.
James L. Venable: The Year of the Yao.
Smurai Jack had some great scores by him (and Paul Dinletir) and I hope this proves to be good and that he gets more work in the future.

He had to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict - he was too busy doing "Chronicles of Riddick", I believe.

This is one of the most interesting assignments on the whole list, IMO. Blanchard hasn't even been close to scoring a heavy action/horror film before. It's always refreshing to have a composer with a different view scoring a genre movie. Same thing with Jeff Danna on "Resident Evil: Apocalypse", BTW.

Alexandre Desplat: Birth / Hostage / The Upside of Anger.Who?
Desplat wrote the score for "Girl With a Pearl Earring" last year. Other credits include "Read My Lips" and "The Luzhin Defence".

Indeed. Mind you, Starsky and Hutch was one of the best scores written this year (IMHO).
