Saw the listing here under new releases and checked Milan's website for it and found this is something they call their "Silver Screen Edition", and features an interview with Hans Zimmer. Now, you Zimmer haters can say what you want, but this was the score that got a lot of us who are fans of Zimmer's music into him, some were him to him long before this, but I know Backdraft blew me out of my chair seeing it and then hearing the music on its own.
If anyone has any news on extra tracks or difference of track appearance as to how its heard on this release, please share.
If nothing else, I am looking forward to upgrading what is already a cherished release as far as I'm concerned.

I can't wait to get this! This score really needed to be remastered, sound-wise. The track, "Show Me Your Firetruck," on the Passions & Achievements (the films of Ron Howard) disc has an excellent and very different mix than the original Backdraft release, and is far superior to the original. So, I'm super stoked about this release! As far as extra tracks go: no deal; it's the original with remixed sound and an audio interview with Hans Zimmer on scoring Backdraft and working with Ron Howard. That's a cool bonus, IMO. It'll just be very nice to hear this score with a better mix.
(Now, would someone please do the same for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan!)
