The good thing with these Silva CDs is that they're available on legal download services. So if you own the rest, you can just get the tracks you don't have.
The advantage of compressing Silva rerecordings down to 128kbps AAC or 192kbps WMA is that you hear less of the recording.

I bought an earlier version of one of their "Choral Classics" label and was very disappointed in the re-recordings, particularlly on the Patrick Doyle pieces from Brannagh's Shakespeare films.

funny, when on the phone to Patrick once he was very impressed with the recordings we made, he was asking for the sheet music as he loved the arrangement so much.

I consider that one of the exceptionally good prague CDs, heh.

I love the recording of 'Non Nobis Nomine' from the first CD - is this the one Doyle was happy about?

Cinema Choral Classics II is the one I own and while I think that the Prague Philharmonic sounds great, my problems lie with the Crouch End Festival Chorus. I just didn't feel like they had the gusto behind them to really make the stuff soar like it should (though I do think they work to great effect on Newman's How the West Was Won).

I have Vol 1 and 2 or the original releases on these. Some of them are pretty good and there is some music not available elsewhere on some of them.J.
Lots more rehash coming though. I can see it now.
