Anyone pick this up? I love it. I think it's way better then the first season release. I don't know if it can be considered a them but 'm in love with the music that plays whenever the others are around. Bon Voyage, Traitor is probably my favorite track so far and features this "theme," a couple of times. There are a lot of standout tracks, Final Countdown being one of them creating a very erie and creepy mood.

Also the "Fate Theme," is heard much less then on the Season 1 release. I feel it was very overplayed on it and got just a tad bit tiring near the end of the CD. Giacchino nailed this season perfectly. Here's to him getting the third season perfectly too.

There sure is a theme for Them in the final episode, "Live Together, Die Alone," during the well-done and helpless dock sequence, with that theme played several different ways. I thought the "Fate" theme was good at first, but it's just been overplayed (also, Giaachino dreadful "scary" strings motif is dull and tiresome); Giacchino, unfortunately, doesn't have thematic range that someone like Bear McCreary or Joel Goldsmith has on their own sci-fi shows, Battlestar Galactica and Stargate: Atlantis, respectively. I really enjoy the theme written for John Locke, I think that's pretty impressive and diverse on the show, well-spotted, too. Desmond's love theme, as well, which closes season 2 on an uplifting note is very cool. I'll pick up this CD sometime, but it's not immediately on my radar.

The season 3 premiere from last night was a very interesting episode. Musically, the percussive action material was a highlight, and was more varied than usual. Looks and sounds to deliver the goods!

I've enjoyed Giacchino's work on Lost and I can't wait for his Star Trek score. After the past few years of Bear Mccreary's stunningly boring BSG music, it'll be really refreshing to hear a space adventure backed by a full orchestra again.

Go watch Stargate if that's your persuasion. A fully orchestral score would not work on the amazing BSG as a fulltime routine. Now-and-then it's fine, but all the time? No way.
