Hmm, I can't really judge on this. I'd have to hear the full OST before making a true judgement. It's just hard to judge this score based on 30 second clips...

I'm holding off until I get the CD or see the movie, which ever comes first in my life. I have, however, been playing all of my Bond scores over and over in anticipation; that will suffice me.

Sounds like some good stuff to me. However, why do the ASX files have Nicholas Dodd's name on them, and not David Arnold's?

Jer,I noticed that for "A Good Year" Sony Music also had the name of the conductor.
Odd.
And they have clips from all the tracks...that 25 track list very well might be correct.

Good to see the Sony PR machine is giving it both barrels for this "sensational" and "amazing" soundtrack

I'm really diggin how Arnold quotes the melody of the title song in "I'm The Money" and "Aston Montenegro". "Dinner Jackets" features the melody again w/ the Bond bass riff sneaking in... very cool. And of course the classic theme makes a nice big appearance at the end w/ a bright shiny new recording.I'm totally looking forward to this. New David Arnold always rocks.

He did similar for the underrated (IMO) The World Is Not Enough score...with the melody of the excellent song by Garbage throughout the score. I haven't heard the Chris Cornell song yet--is it on any website?

Here's the Chris Cornell song - if you don't like it right off the bat, give it a chance. I've found that most of the most recent Bond songs haven't struck me as great immediately, but this one has definitely grown on me. Very retro ala Live and Let Die.

Other than Live and Let Die, my favorite bond song is The World Is Not Enough.I was a pretty big fan of SOUNDGARDEN's mainstream stuff, so I'll probably like the song.

Go to www.davidarnold.com and click on "media."
The cue (called "Snow Business") is there. Also check out the track "Khazakstan" which features a nice rendition of the theme song.

P.S. The files will be in your Temp Interenet Folder if you want to save them.

And in latest CASINO ROYALE CD news, the latest commercial says "Soundtrack on Sony Classical" and "Single on Interscope Records."So that answers why the song isn't on the score CD.

I like the song... pity it's not on the CD.. Bond songs are part and parcel of the score IMO, especially if the composer quotes the song later on as mentioned above

Well, look at it this way. We get about 74 minutes of score, which to my knowledge is a pretty freakin' long Bond disc, much less a freakin' long Arnold disc. I'm happy about that. And then you can at least still find the single. So, I'll probably be getting a 2-cd jewel case and putting them both in there. Or, I'll make a custom mix of all my faves.

I agree this is good news about the song. if you go to www.myspace.com/chriscornell, you get to here a different mix of it.Tried doing a google search on the single's availability, and it turns out the single may be released on 2/10/07 according to one site. I don't really buy into that date; it's too far away from the hoopla. Ten to one says there will be an iTunes tie-in there.
Also - i like the track Solange so far in terms of how close to Barry this particular piece is. You can't judge any track by :30 seconds, but who knows? it could only get better. This really is the only soundtrack I'm looking forward to this holiday season, except for maybe Harry Gregson-Williams' Deja Vu.
And yes, I will be getting the single.

There's an interview with David Arnold over at Front Row on BBC Radio. I'm not sure how long it will be online so here's the link.I'm sure it will provide more fodder for the "haters" to bash.
Personally, I like what I'm hearing.

Click on the Monday, October 23 show (on the right hand column) and forward ahead about 7 mins in to get to the David Arnold section of the show.
