Looks like Lakeshore Records has several soundtracks coming up.

BLADES OF GLORY, SHOOTER, REIGN OVER ME, EVERYTHING'S GONE GREEN and DEAD SILENCE.

Of those, only DEAD SILENCE (Charlie Clouser) and REIGN OVER ME (Rolfe Kent) appear to be score CDs.

I'm interested in Dead Silence. I like his scores for all three Saw films so wonder what he'll come up with for this film.

I think the Shooter CD is also a score CD. (Mark Mancina)

Dead Silence turns out to be a harmless horror score. It's all synth and effective, but there's nothing "hugely" scary about it. The main title is a great beginning - I almost thought this score to be the Halloween score of 2007, but then it quickly descended into the cliched synth creepfest that it is, with a few neat cues (there are 30 in total). Horror fans will like it.

Would love to hear what you think of it after you've heard it, Jeff.

One upcoming Lakeshore CD I'm really looking forward to is the April 10th release of Perfect Stranger, assuming it actually contains Antonio Pinto's score, of course.

Not to sound too much like my Canadian twin, but Lakeshore is releasing stuff that makes Varese's latest bunch look like a classic line-up. Very uninspiring.

With releases by Siliotto, Danna, and Shire, Varèse's latest is a classic line-up. You also need to remember that Lakeshore Records is a division of Lakeshore Entertainment, and it makes sense that they'd concentrate primarily on releasing soundtracks to the films produced by their own company.

Personally, I'll take one new Antonio Pinto score over every Trevor Rabin CD Varèse has ever put out, and Shooter is the first new Mancina score CD that won't need to be imported from another country since what, Domestic Disturbance?

I know I can certainly forgive them for releasing a lot of stuff I think is crap if the occasional hour of Christopher Young or Marco Beltrami music sneaks in every so often.

Good point! I was thinking more of the recent week of releases that offered us ROBOTECH, THE ASTRONAUT FARMER, et al.
