PATHFINDER
Music Composed by Jonathan EliasOriginal Motion Picture Soundtrack
An action-adventure set in the time when Vikings tried to conquer North America, PATHFINDER tells the story of a young Norse boy left behind after his clan shipwrecks on the Eastern shores. Despite his lineage, the boy is raised by the very Indians his kinsmen set out to destroy. Now, as the Vikings return to stage another barbaric raid on his village, the 25-year-old Norse warrior (Karl Urban) wages a personal war to stop the Vikings’ trail of death and destruction. Forging his own path, his destiny is revealed and his identity is reclaimed.
The grand score for this epic film was composed by Jonathan Elias.
Twentieth Century Fox opens PATHFINDER nationwide on April 20.

Interesting.Well from history there is some evidence for possible settlement in Vinland-probably Newfoundland from the Viking Sagas, that talk about all that just after 1000 AD. The Natives(Indian tribe there probably) was intrigued by some of the Vikings animals and traded for milk and things like that. They got along at firat but then situation deteriorated between them. One day when the natives were very threatening to them a bull broke out of its fenced area and chased them off, according to the sagas. Shortly thereafter, the Vikings has to leave because they could not conquer these people.
Another piece of evidence shows in 1300 AD(although greatly debated as to whether its fake or not) shows according to a tablet found there in Minnesota or thereaabouts that Vikings or Swedes, may have been in the area but were run off by Indians. Some experts say the tablet is a fraud though.

The movie does sound interesting though. However, the Vikings could not conquer certain peoples.J.

Can't say I've heard of Jonathan Elias. I just checked IMDB. Here some of his scores to films or series I've heard of:"Pensacola: Wings of Gold" (1997)
Leprechaun 2 (1994)
"Tales from the Crypt" (1 episode, 1990)
Two Moon Junction (1988)
Children of the Corn (1984)Can't say I'm too exited. Has anybody seen the movie and heard the score?

James Fitzpatrick of Tadlow Music was at the recording sessions in Prague and said it sounded great to him. I'm not familiar with Elias myself, but I think think this score has some real potential.NP: Furin Kazan (Akira Senju)

Elias worked with John Barry on several of his 80s synth scores including JAGGED EDGE and BELLS.He also did the somewhat Barry-esque trailer music for DePalma's BODY DOUBLE.
James
Oh Yeah...he also worked on MY SISTER'S KEEPER.

The PATHFINDER trailer for whoever might be interested:
http://www.pathfinderthemovie.com/Somehow, it seemed more promising before I watched the trailer. But the score could still be good. . . .
