Sorry if this is old news, but after trying loads of different trials programs for ID3-tag editing, and wrestling with media player 11 in order to add decent sized cover art to my MP3s, I finally found this:

I use mp3 tag tools which is also free. However for me I never add cover art to my mp3 player. That to me is annoying as hell.

I use iTunes and it does it automatically. If it doesn't load the cover art it's pretty easy to do it myself. I don't mess with Media Player 10.Ryan

Theres also MediaMonkey, theres a free version of it that can auto tag mp3s for more convience. It connects to Amazon and gets the right album and track information, and downloads the cover art in one automated process if you don't like entering tags to manualy.[Message edited by TimT on 04-09-2007]

The problem with iTunes Auto Art is that it only keeps the art for that computer and is iTunes specific. If you move your music to say your friends computer, the art doesn't stick. You still need to click your Artwork in the tag and add a image to embed it into your mp3 file.

Ryan, I've been having problems with the iTunes shuffle feature within playlists in the new version. I used to be able to randomly go from song to song within a playlist, but now when I try to do that, pressing shuffle just pre-shuffles the playlist to an order and goes directly in that order, not shuffling from song to song....are you experiencing that?

tj - I have noticed that and thought I'd found a solution, but I haven't tested it but here's what I'm thinking. In a playlist, order the tracks as desired. Hit the shuffle button.
Now, depending on what column you have selected on the right - "Track #" / "Name" / "Album" / "Time" / "Artist" / etc. - the tracks will either be automatically rearranged or stay the way they are. I suggest selecting the track # column (aka the arrow so that the arrow is pointing up BEFORE hitting shuffle. The tracks should stay as you arranged them. I think! Or not!
