I know that John Morgan stops by here once in a while so thought I would comment here. I just watched "Werewolf of London" a 1935 Universal film with an interesting score by Karl Hajos. It makes this otherwise goofy film (the werewolf puts his hat on before leaving his lab to kill!) rather fun to watch.

Though he's probably a rather esoteric/obscure taste, it would be cool to have some of his music available. It is definitely similar to others in the period but seemed to still be unique even in this film already (he was in his late 30s when composing this). Any chance you all are doing other scores that might be able to toss in some of his music (even for a couple of 1940s era Oscar-nominated films)?

And, for those who have not seen the Universal "special collection" sets, Morgan and Stromberg have a bit of a cameo discussing the movie music of Salter and Skinner in a brief documentary on this DVD as well. All I can say is it made me grab their superb Salter discs to enjoy the music again!

Someday we would love to do a Laemmle-era horror disc(s).
I reconstructed Kaun's FRANKeNSTEIN main title and we recorded it, but it just sits in the can waiting for company. But yes, WEREWOLF OF LONDON is terrific, along with such gems as THE MUMMY, DRACULA'S DAUGHTER, MYSTERTY OF EDWIN DROOD, the bit of music in THE INVISIBLE MAN not to mention the Waxman music. Yes, there is certainly 2 albums in there.

That's great to know....wow, a Laemmle-era release would be wonderful to hear.

Thanks for the response....at least you would sell 1 copy!

oh he would sell a lot more than just one! My favorite is still the second recording that John did of House of Frankenstein. This had all of the themes.

WEREWOLF OF LONDON also has some music tracked-in from Heinz Roemheld's THE BLACK CAT.
