I ordered Tyler's The Greatest Game Ever Played from PeterK,
and I play it all the time. I just love the rousing, very Irish sounding
"Ride The High Country" themes that indicate the passage of time
during the golf matches. (Don't confuse this with Bassman's
Ride The High Country.) The main theme is just bone-melting
gorgeous. I know people think is sounds like The Ludow's theme.
I may hear similarities in orchestrations or pace, but it is its
own distinct theme and quite lovely. It is nice to hear a real
    melodic theme.

I'll never outgrow my need for Disney. I liked the movie.
Shia LaBeouf is a young actor to watch. He was good
in this movie, and was funny and serious in the remake
of Hitchcock's Rear Window called Disturbia. And his
comedic timing was superb in Transformers. He will
    certainly become a Hollywood presence.

If you haven't heard this score, check it out.

    Joan,

I totally agree with you. One of my favorite Tyler scores and a really good movie!

Good PR piece Joan! We haven't seen you much around these parts lately.

Sure we're no FSM, but we have a sexier line-up!

"...we have a sexier line up.." Hmmmm, I may be ancient but I'm not dead, and you will still have to prove this. Pictures please. Crono, glad you like this movie and score.

Well Joan, you asked for it:

    Here's me in my prime.

Brian on a sexier day, like today.

    Here's FishChip looking his manliest.

    Canada's been good to Sean!

Ryan Keaveney looking dapper, as usual

Bond1965 is one dangerous sex machine.

And Jeron is always this fine!

Pay no heed to Jeron's words sweet Joan; these pictures are all us. We're actually very famous celebrities!

Now, go see Michael Clayton and make sure to pick up Ocean's Thirteen when it hits DVD shelves. Thanks, take care.

I knew that was the real Jeron, and I must say that had you not posted Paul Newman, Jeron would have been my numbero uno!! I've already adopted him.

So who is playing The Greatest Game Ever Played? Who is looking forward to Tyler's Rambo score? I do hope he uses Goldsmith's John Rambo theme in various places. Great for recall.

Note the latest trailer. Missing Goldsmith's great theme which would remind us of this character.

Well, I never bought The Greatest Game (not a big Tyler fan, although I own a great deal of his work) but I've certainly heard good things.

Yeah, while I think the trailer looks to be great fun; it could definitely use Goldsmith's theme. And there's no denying that Brian Tyler will use the original themes. He definitely will with Sly behind nearly every aspect of this project. Too bad he didn't seek out Joel Goldsmith (or Marco Beltrami).

I agree with using Joel Goldsmith, that'd been the most logical and smartest move for Rambo. Marco Beltrami, though!? Andrew, I know you love him, but he F.U.C.K.E.D. UP LIve Free Or Die Hard... it might be a good score on it's own as just a plain old action piece, yet as a Die Hard score it blows chunks in comparison to what Michael Kamen conjured up (even 3, the rush job-cut and paste, is better than what Beltrami composed). I would be very disinterested in what he might be capable of with Rambo. Tyler is a bad choice, IMO, but I don't see him making a total mess outta' this; and yeah, I'm sure Sly will make sure Goldsmith's theme(s) are used throughout the score.

I haven't seen Live Free Or Die Hard due to the trailers (though I've been told it's a fun movie). It just seems so stupid to me that Bruce Willis, who was an average cop guy in the first movie (and in the third and somewhat in the second) can now shoot cars at helicopters and do super human things like ride on the outside of a jet...

Anyway, I liked Greatest Game Ever Played, except it was basically the percussion from Pearl Harbor mixed with the theme from A Beautiful Mind... I think Nuts had it right when he said Goldsmith should've scored it.

Wait... were we talking about Rambo? I thought we mentioned Goldsmith for Greatest Game and I got happy because of Rudy...

    Sure, why not?!

Anywho, Joan, here's a picture of Clayton. He may have a few years on us above, but that baton certainly does look appealing in his hands.

Yep, Clayton is older than I thought. Nice picture.

I really do think music equals recall in many ways. I "think" that every single Star Wars trailer used Williams' main theme to remind us of the past Star Wars movies. Same with Superman. Stallone needs to put Jerry's main theme into this trailer.

I'm older than I thought! But I do like pictures of myself... You should've seen how many we took before we finally got it right. There were a lot of mishaps on that shoot, including one poor chap that got a batton to the face. I can't twirl them at all! They're very dangerous...

Anywho, I agree about the trailer music for Rambo. This trailer seemed so... production library musicish... if that makes sense.

    Clayton
