Doug Adams and Howard Shore were available afterwards to sign copies of Doug's new book, or anything else fans could get a hold of. I even got a photo with the both of them.

I'm exhausted now, but will post links to photos and details later. It was a great, great evening in London tonight.

It was brilliant.
One of the pleasant surprises was the use of the rejected score for the scene where Smeagol chokes Deagol. They also used score for the Shelob scene (when she wraps him up), but in that case I think I preferred the silent version.

Doug was very nice. To be very honest, Shore looked as if he'd rather be neck-deep in mud, but I guess long signing sessions can take their toll. I chatted a bit with Doug - I mentioned the MM boards and told him I used to love the FSM podcasts. he said they might return now that he finished the book (or something like that). I blubbered incoherently with Shore, and couldn't think of anything to say. But then as I was leaving I could have kicked myself cos I left him with a 'keep up the good work'. An honest sentiment, but I guess it sounded a bit ridiculous (as my brother quickly pointed out).
