Is it pretty sad of me that I have yet to buy the complete recordings for Fellowship Of The Ring to complete the set?

Based on the number of times I have listened to it, I would have to say, 'not really'. There's a lot to life.

I have actually only listened to the C.R.'s for TTT and ROTK only a couple of times since I got them. It takes a lot to listen to either score all the way through.

Hearing this disc from beginning to end for the first time was an unreal experience, and what better place to share it than the thread where everything started?I truly feel like I was witnessing something historic.

Just got back from the Royal Albert Hall, where a packed house was treated to a sublime performance of the entire score (end credits and all, and not a single blip!) of Return of the King (theatrical release).Doug Adams and Howard Shore were available afterwards to sign copies of Doug's new book, or anything else fans could get a hold of. I even got a photo with the both of them.
I'm exhausted now, but will post links to photos and details later. It was a great, great evening in London tonight.

The two performances of ROTK were a fantastic end to the 'Live to Projection' trilogy in London (although I suspect the concerts will return in some form or other eventually).Looking forward to seeing your photos Camillu - a few from the rehearsal are up at http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimjware/sets/72157625058816182/

It was brilliant.
One of the pleasant surprises was the use of the rejected score for the scene where Smeagol chokes Deagol. They also used score for the Shelob scene (when she wraps him up), but in that case I think I preferred the silent version.Doug was very nice. To be very honest, Shore looked as if he'd rather be neck-deep in mud, but I guess long signing sessions can take their toll. I chatted a bit with Doug - I mentioned the MM boards and told him I used to love the FSM podcasts. he said they might return now that he finished the book (or something like that). I blubbered incoherently with Shore, and couldn't think of anything to say. But then as I was leaving I could have kicked myself cos I left him with a 'keep up the good work'. An honest sentiment, but I guess it sounded a bit ridiculous (as my brother quickly pointed out).
I had to buy the book from the foyer, which cost me way more than if I had got it from Amazon, but I guess it was worth it given the circumstances.

I have a big list of the changes and restorations made to the score for the live performances which I'll post later.Amusingly I seem to be lurking in the background of some of your photos.
