6CDs of some of Goldsmith's best work for the studio....So many years on, how's your set doing? Is it sitting on the shelf, or is it still getting fingerprinted? I remember it being said that a lot of the unreleased material appearing on the set would likely not be made available again, although this is ultimately proving untrue.
This first used copy appeared in the MM store last night. I wonder if more will come.
What's your favorite on the entire set?

I listen to bits and pieces every now and then (without fingerprinting though, as it's all losslessly digitised on my portable HD). I dislike compilations, so I naturally rarely play the some-individual-tracks representations of otherwise released scores (I have most of them in full anyway). One I *don't* have in full is Bad Girls, and that's actually one of my favourites on the set.

I missed out on this when Varese released it; too expensive at the time. I really kicked myself for not having picked it up. I'm actually okay with not having bought it, though, because as you have pointed out Peter, much of this material is seeing the light of day, and I'm sure more and more will continue to see release. At least, I hope so.

Bad Girls would be a great re-issue, but it will be damned if it's released as a 1500 unit limited edition!

I listen to S*P*Y*S when I feel like an idiot. In fact I think I'll spin it right now.

Do you have more info on this set, Peter? I didnt see it listed on the site. I could possibly be interested in it.

Here you can find more info about the box. The box is out of print, though.

Peter, I listen to the Damnation Alley one quite a bit. I also like the Chairman suite and several others. Lots of goodies on there.
I also like the Von Ryans stuff.

S*P*Y*S gets more play than any other score. It is some of the wackiest and most fun music ever written.

The listing on this site is here:
http://www.moviemusic.com/soundtrack/jerrygoldsmithatfox
It should comp up in the results "jerry goldsmith" in the compilation section.
Thanks for your interest. This box sold already... maybe another will come along.posted 03-21-2008 06:32 PM PT (US) Old Infopop Software by UBB
