I personally think it goes down hill from 5, then really drops off 6-9.At the time, it was Fox's biggest show and they could not part with it.

In addition to Mark Snow's score, the CD will feature three songs:Xzibit's "Dying To Live,"
"Broken" by hip-hop's Unkle
"X-Files Theme," remixed by Unkle.--Bri

I wonder how much the temp track will show through on this one. Not trying to be crass. I really am curious. The first one I recall hearing James Horner's Aliens in the cornfield chase, but that turned out to be one of my favorite cues in the score.

Incidently, I pulled my score out for the first X-Files and remembered how much I loved the artwork for this film. It was very subtle and colorful. I believe so far there's only been one poster released for the new film (I'd be surprised if there was more coming considering the film comes out in a month) and it's actually pretty dissapointing. Just that black and white image where the shaddows from Scully and Moulder creates an X. Sure it's a fine teaser/advanced poster, but really? Is this the best there is? I'd expect way more than that for this film.

why are they making another X Files film this late?
Seems odd...anyway, I preferred the episodes with the replacement cast members myself.[Message edited by tjguitar on 06-21-2008]

My favorite episode was Chupacabara, it was brilliant I actually remembered most of the spoofs from Cops when they originally aired.

Actually, I think Chris Carter is a hip hop fan if I remember right, I could be totally wrong.I bet we see a new poster soon. I think the teaser one is really cool.

The teaser one is really cool. But the first film had like 5 different posters for it. And there should be a final one soon, but who knows. I just hope it's more like the posters for the first film where it's colorful.

Lucky! My friend used to be a manager at movie theater and she had all the advanced posters for it. I only have the one advanced one for the new one... But it looks awesome backlit!

But it's mostly because we have a theater room which we built 12 back lit frames for (boy was that fun!) so I keep everything up to date with movies that are coming out rather than movies that are/have been out. But in my room I have Pixar posters (Ratatouille final, Wall E advanced, Finding Nemo final and The Incredibles final) and an autographed Transformers advanced poster.

I've got Wall E advance, Harry Potter 5, X2 (int final), good night and good luck, rotk, serenity, hoels moving castle and batman begins up in my apartment currently.I've also got a sealed and rolled Nemo teaser. I've got two of them, the other one has a little damage on the sides that you can't see when framed.
I've got a ton more at my parents house in tubes LOL.

My closet is FULL of tubes. I have somewhere between 275 and 300 posters. It's sad because I don't know what to do with them all. But I do have the entire set of posters from Batman Begins and Sin City! So I have that going for me... Plus I think my set for The Dark Knight is complete as far as the US versions go.I actually just got my Nemo poster a couple of weeks ago from the Disney rewards program. They show a picture of the advanced poster so I figured that's what I was getting but it ended up being the final.

It's very hard to find the final Dark Knight posters. A lot of them are reprints. Another one that sells for A LOT of money is the joker one that says "Why So Serious?" in what appears to be blood at the top and it's like you're looking at him through glass. I managed to get that one for $15 the day before Heath Ledger passed away, the next day my poster guy had to start selling it for $80 because he was running out of stock so fast... As for the Nemo poster, I liked the advanced better as well. I was kind of dissapointed. I also like the International version of Ratatouille better than the domestic.
Sorry for getting sidetracked everyone lol

It took me up until recently to begin to appreciate the simplicity (and affordability) of downsizing and narrowing down what I collect, as a hobbyist, down to the things absolutely most important to me. I too have my CDs, DVDs, books, posters, models, etc... but after going to and from Dallas to Los Angeles, etc... and now moving again (thankfully just here in Dallas, locally)... man. The less ya gotta deal with and stress about, the better.
Just some friendly advice / pearls of wisdom.

So no one went and saw this?! Sad...Well I went and I enjoyed it quite a bit. We were the only ones in the theater (on the first Sunday of its release) which was very nice, but also very sad. I thought the film really fixed where I thought the first one went wrong. The pacing was better, the story was more about the characters instead of just an alien plot, maybe it's because Chris Carter was actually directing or something, I don't know.
As for the score... It was actually pretty non-X-Files-ey in parts. The theme doesn't pop up very much at all. At one moment a theme that appears in the first film appeared in this one (which sounded much more orchestral and full in this one). But some of the score reminded me of Scream 2 and 3 for some reason. It could've been the way the choir was used.
All in all, I recommend both the movie and the score to everyone who's an X-Files fan. And to those who aren't as well because the film is actually pretty creepy.

I've decided to wait for the DVD. I just don't really have the time or the money to see this one now -- despite my fandom of The X-Files. And from what I've read, this one seems like it might be more effective on the small screen.

On DigitalBits they actually enjoyed it quite a bit, but they also really enjoyed Speed Racer. However they do mention that Ebert liked it and wrote a pretty good review.
I think the marketing of this film sucked, along with the release date. One of the things that has bugged me, and I talked about this earlier is how not-flashy this is. The first one is sleek and huge looking. This one has a pretty terrible looking font for its title in the TV spots and the trailers left a lot to be desired. But on the plus side, nothing is really given away in the TV spots or trailers.
