Any other Powell enthusiasts out there looking forward to Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Disney's Bolt? While I liked what David Newman did w/ the first Ice Age, I loved what Powell wrote for Meltdown. Dinosaurs should be a lot of fun. I saw the trailer for Bolt w/ Wall-E, and that also looks like a fun animated flick that should inspire an exciting score.

The only complaint I had about Meltdown was that the theme from the first one was missing, but that didn't matter much as Powell was able to write a catchy and fun theme. And Bolt looks like fun, looks like it could have some big fun cues to it.

I thought Bolt could be exciting if they had kept the opening of the trailer (about the captured father and the dog who can save him) as the entire plot of the film . . . until I saw that John Travolta and Hannah Montana would be providing voices.

I don't do celebrity voices actors . . . or anything with Travolta.

Not crazy about Travolta doing the voice, either -- but I'm willing to try and let that detail get lost in the details, in an effort to enjoy what looks like an entertaining premise.

Bolt looks totally stupid! And Ice Age sucks! Isn't terrible Ray Romano a part of that business!? Kids movies are for kids, Brian.

When I saw Hancock and was noticing some of Powells music in the film, it reminded me of many other older scores. J.
