ScoringSessions.com is thrilled to bring our visitors a little Christmas gift - a sneak peek at the scoring sessions to Michael Giacchino's score to Star Trek, coming in May 2009. It's not quite what you expect - the full scoring coverage will engage this spring - so be sure to come in and check out what we have for you!

Nice! I'm excited to hear this score: Everyone who's mentioned the music in that 20-minute preview that Abrams' has been promoting has had good words for Giacchino's music; too bad none of them go into any remote detail about it, though.

Nowhere we can see it at. J.J. Abrams has been screening a string of, I think, 4 scenes from the movie that amount to about 20 minutes for press in Europe and then he did so in L.A. and NYC: 1) Kirk in a drunken brawl, meets Pike; 2) Kirk being smuggled on board Enterprise by McCoy and warning Pike about the Romulan threat before they arrive at Vulcan barely battle-ready thanks to Kirk; 3) Kirk and old Spock walking and talking, meet Scotty, too, who is trying to figure a way to get them back on board Enterprise (beaming to a ship traveling at warp speed is tricky, I guess); 4) Kirk and Sulu orbital sky-jumping onto the Romulan drill that is making its way into Vulcan; Sulu obviously using his samurai sword to dispatch those green-blooded bastards!

Agreed. He is capable, as any of the Lost premiere/finales can show.

So are you saying the other 22 episodes of "Lost" each season are crap?

Here's hoping that just as the movie starts to pick up pace it suddenly is interrupted by a flashback, and once I start to grasp some sort of important plot point it goes to black and says "Star Trek" and then I have to wait until the next movie to find out what the hell I just spent two hours watching.

HA! Pretty much. There's a ton of throw-away material on that show.
