Isn't Goldenthal scoring Julie Taymor's The Tempest too? Or is that 2010?

To be honest it's only the top 4 (and maybe GIJoe, Tree of Life) that make my mouth water. Was Morricone's attachment to Tarantino's 'Inglorious Bastards' just a rumour?

    Great list, and idea though.

If Horner does a half-assed job on AVATAR I will be so pissed.

Other than that, STAR TREK, GI JOE and DAYBREAKERS is what I'm most looking forward to. They all certainly have good potential, though.

    Stargate,

I too am interested in Star Trek and G.I. Joe. All though I have no plans to see Star Trek but that's besides the point. I'll also check out Transformer 2's score and Wolf Man's score.

Oh no Harry Gregson-Williams is scoring X-Men Origins: Wolverine!? NOOO. I was hoping they'd get some better like Powell.

I have no desire to see Star Trek and no desire to hear the score.

I'd say Angels and Demons, GI Joe, Transformers 2 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine are the ones I am most looking forward to.

I think HGW could do fine with X-Men Origins provided they let him. I think a lot of the films/games he scores they make him use samples from his past scores.

I'm sorry fellows, but that list would not be the most anticipated to me.

Only the Daybreakers one with Gordon was interesting to me of that list. Some of the honorable mentions look ok.

    H.G. Williams etc.

The Bolt score by Powell sounds pretty good from the cuts I heard on another site. I know its not 2009. LOL.

    On other scores:

I just got the Ultimate Gift by McKenzie. Its pretty good. He said in the notes it was his 16th original score. I thought he had done more than that. He orchestrated for a long time too though.

I remember back in 1995 or thereabouts when Little Women came out by Thomas Newman, that it mentioned on there it was his 26th score at the time. Now look how many hes done since.

And James Newton Howard is already up there at probably close to 140 or so. WOW, time flies.

    J.

A good conversation starter you've got there, Mikael!

These are the ones I'm eager for...

    Public Enemies (Goldenthal)
    Daybreakers (Gordon)
    Tree of Life (Desplat)
    Broken Embraces (Iglesias)
    Tetro (Golijov)
    Mao's Last Dancer (Gordon)
    Afterwards (Desplat)
    Cheri (Desplat)
... and the new David Shire score.

    Star Trek - Michael Giacchino
Angels & Demons - Hans Zimmer
    Public Enemies - Elliot Goldenthal
Tree Of Life - Alexandre Desplat
    G.I. Joe - Alan Silvestri
    AVATAR - James Horner
    Inglorious Bastards - Ennio Morricone

Michael, what's David Shire scoring? It better be The Taking Of Pelham One. Two. Three!

He's scoring BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT, which is on Mikael's top 10 list.
(As for the 1-2-3 remake, I think the best we'll be able to look forward to is a remix of the David Shire theme. I don't know if it would matter if Shire did the remake or not - he's already done the score perfectly once.)

Yeah, I know. I'd just bank for him over any of the RC composers that will be burdened with this (burdened because outside of Hans Zimmer or John Powell none of them have the skill to tackle that score and/or it's origins).

Yeah, bad choice. Bad choice for him scoring Wolverine, too; it should be Powell, since he did a nice job on the last X-Men.
