Sorry, I don't have the time to sift through all the postings right now, but will there be a score release of this?

Yes there is and it's out right now. You can order it through MovieMusic.
http://moviemusic.com/soundtrack/transformers2-scoreI wouldn't wait very long to decide if you want it, you may never know if it'll go out of print like the first one did.

Besides...if he had clicked on that thread he would have had to suffer through your "I win the prize for first to the obligatory Bay bashing bonanza" post.

So, what does everyone think of the new Transformers score? Can you please sum up your thoughts in at most two words?[Message edited by Stargate on 06-28-2009]

After hearing the sequel score in the film, I'm inclined to agree, the first one was much better.

One of the most glaring problems with the score, whether it's good or not (I don't like the music), is that many sections are repeated from the first film without much variation or alteration: Case in point, "Forest Battle" ... This action music is nearly identical to some of the action from the first film, which shouldn't be the case; John Williams didn't score the Endor battle the same way he scored the Hoth battle, not that Williams and Jablonsky should be mentioned at all in the same thread.

... or even the same time continuum.

I really liked the first score. It had a lot of enjoyable themes. I wouldn't rate the second one as high, but there's a lot of new thematic material. The new themes are definitely darker and less accessible in terms of easy listening. All in all I like the second score. It fits well to the movie.[Message edited by Kris on 07-07-2009]
