Married?  are you?

What's interesting about me:  I play piano, almost totally by ear and without discipline (which is a blessing aswell as a hindrance). love filmmusic becasue of its versatility in style, and all that. film music can literally be anything musically, and it expands my tastes into different genres, namely classical, then jazz, and ambient music. Though its really irritating when people ask me my fave kind of music, i tell them, then they just don't care. Cant blame them though, it is boring to talk about if you dont listen to it.

Favorite composers/artists:  Williams, Goldsmith are at the top. James newton Howard comes next, but he is starting to bore me with his recent material. i love Bruce Broughton for his upbeat material and westerns. one of my utmost favourites though is Joe Hisaishi from Japan. His music, mostly for japanimation, never ceases to move and entertain me, and i have a love for asian music in general. other composers i like are Basil Poledouris, Christopher Young. Im starting to be increasingly impressed by Dario Marianelli and Alexandre Desplat, ones to look out for.

Favorite soundtrack(s):  officially, they are mostly scores by Williams. The Star Wars Saga is the very best, followed by A.I., E.T., Close Encounters. Followed by Dances With Wolves, Braveheart and The Thin Red Line (fave historical period filmscores).

Why I like Movie Music:  It's alright, i guess. Some good tunes and stuff...

Additional Comments:  my opinions on filmmusic have changed a great deal over the past years and are still changing. I dont agree with a number of my reviews as much as i used to, expecially the really old ones and am trying to update them one by one. One thing worth noting to those that have read all of the above, i am more coherent in person.....probably, well no, not really. I do mumble every now and again when i get bored, so its a good thing that to you, i exist purely as just words on a webpage.
